The Fifth Column
The universalism of Islam, in its all-embracing creed, is imposed on the believers as a continuous process of warfare, psychological and political, if not strictly military. . .
The Jihad, accordingly, may be stated as a doctrine of a permanent state of war,
not continuous fighting.”
Majid Khadduri

The hate for the West swells like a fire fed by the wind. The clash between us and them is not a military one. It is a cultural one, a religious one, and the worst is still to come.”

As Ali Jizer is nearing the end of his ten-kilometer evening walk, he sees the kiosk on the street and glances over and reads the newspaper headlines, ‘Terrorists Cell leader killed in Saudi Shootout.’
This ought to be an interesting read so he stops and gives the newsvendor some coins for three copies of the papers. Hurrying back to the apartment he hands the two extra to his friends as he reads the Headline starts with,
Odyssey of an Al Qaeda Operative
Moroccan's Trail of Terror Illustrates Ongoing Ability to Organize Attacks
By Craig Whitlock
Washington Post Foreign Service
Reprinted Monday, May 2, 2005; A01
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia -- In the post-Sept. 11 world, Karim Mejjati was the perfect undercover al Qaeda operative. The former medical student from Morocco could speak several languages, had many passports and excelled at building bombs. He was also good at avoiding attention as he crisscrossed four continents to organize a wave of catastrophic attacks.
On May 12, 2003, an al Qaeda network that investigators say was put together by Mejjati in Saudi Arabia blew up three residential compounds for foreign workers in Riyadh, leaving 23 dead. Less than a week later, about 3,000 miles away, suicide bombers trained by Mejjati carried out the deadliest terrorist attacks in Moroccan history, killing 45 people in Casablanca.
For the next two years, authorities in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and North America pressed a secret but intensive global manhunt for the French-schooled suspect, fearing that he had set up other al Qaeda sleeper cells that had yet to be activated. Saudi Arabia put him near the top of its list of most wanted terrorism suspects. In Morocco, he was sentenced in absentia to 20 years for the Casablanca bombings. The FBI named him in a global anti-terrorism alert, warning that he was suspected of planning attacks in the United States.
According to investigators, his success in organizing terrorist networks in multiple countries is clear evidence that al Qaeda can still order devastating attacks around the world, even though most of its commanders have been killed or on the run since Sept. 11, 2001.
The search for Mejjati, 37, ended last month in a small town in the heart of Saudi Arabia when he was killed in a gun battle with security forces who stumbled on his hideout. Now, investigators trying to retrace his footsteps acknowledge that they still do not know how many more sleeper cells the well-educated explosives expert may have created.
"They need guys like him in the field in order to remain effective," said Mohammed Darif, a political science professor at Mohammedia University in Morocco, who is an expert on Islamic radicals in the country and has studied Mejjati's background. "He was very valuable for them. They could use him in different places and rely on him to complete the job."
U.S. officials have said that the direct threat posed by al Qaeda's central leadership has diminished and that it has taken on a different role of providing encouragement, but little concrete assistance, to local cells or networks that plan attacks on their own. On Wednesday, in its annual report on global terrorism trends, the State Department said the shift illustrates "what many analysts believe is a new phase of the global war on terrorism, one in which local groups inspired by al Qaeda organize and carry out attacks with little or no support or direction from al Qaeda itself."
But an examination of Mejjati's role in organizing cells in Saudi Arabia, Morocco and possibly Spain -- three of the countries hardest hit by Islamic terrorism since Sept. 11 -- challenges that assumption.
In interviews, security officials in Saudi Arabia said that Mejjati was dispatched from Afghanistan by top al Qaeda leaders in 2002 to help recruit and train a network of cells dedicated to overthrowing the Saudi royal family. Saudi officials said Mejjati served as the general strategist to the network's first chief, Yusuf Ayeri, who reported directly to al Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden. Starting with the May 2003 bombing in Riyadh, the network has rattled the kingdom with a series of explosions, kidnappings and beheadings that have taken more than 90 lives and contributed to a global rise in oil prices.
In Morocco, counterterrorism officials said Mejjati provided explosives training to a cell of Islamic radicals recruited from the slums surrounding Casablanca. At first, investigators thought the operation was conceived and planned locally. But a suspect who later divulged Mejjati's name to interrogators led them to conclude that those responsible for the attacks were taking their cues from al Qaeda's top leadership.
Some U.S. and European officials say they believe Mejjati may also have been involved in the planning of the March 11, 2004, bombings of four commuter trains in Madrid in which 191 people were killed and more than 1,800 were wounded, although other investigators disagree. Spanish authorities have not issued an indictment against him. A local cell consisting mostly of Moroccan immigrants is believed to have carried out the attacks, but Spanish investigators have been unable to determine whether they acted on their own or took orders from al Qaeda middlemen such as Mejjati.
European Suspicions
The son of a French mother and Moroccan father, Mejjati had a privileged upbringing in Casablanca. He attended an exclusive French-language school and, at his father's urging, applied to medical school in France.
He moved to France in the early 1990s to study, but dropped out of school and became more devout as a Muslim, according to neighbors and relatives in Casablanca. When he returned to Morocco a few years later, he dressed in Afghan-style clothes and wore a long beard, a style that made him stand out in his family's cosmopolitan neighborhood, next to the city's old Jewish sector.
In the late 1990s, he caused a small stir in the neighborhood by loudly berating a young man who had put his arm around his girlfriend in public, neighbors recalled. When visitors came from out of town, he would insist that he and his bushy-bearded male friends sleep in cars on the street while the women stayed in his small two-room apartment.
"We thought, well, he's weird, but what can he possibly do?" said one neighbor, who spoke on condition of anonymity, saying he didn't want to antagonize Mejjati's friends or the Moroccan security services. "He was always with strange people, but not to the point where we were worried."
Mejjati married a Moroccan woman, with whom he had two sons, but the family rarely interacted with others. As his sons grew up, Mejjati increasingly spent his time traveling. One resident from his apartment building said he recalled seeing Mejjati only twice after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, though he never suspected that he might be involved in militant groups.
That changed after suicide bombers struck several targets in Casablanca in May 2003, including a Jewish community center not far from Mejjati's apartment. Shortly afterward, detectives began interrogating neighbors about Mejjati and set up a round-the-clock stakeout of the apartment building. Neighbors said the police shadowed Mejjati's wife whenever she left her home and kept up the surveillance until last month, when he was reported killed in Saudi Arabia.
Moroccan officials said they assumed that Mejjati had fled the country before the May 2003 attacks, but were unsure how much time he had spent in Morocco training the suicide bombers.
In an interview in March, Moroccan Justice Minister Mohamed Bouzoubaa said Mejjati was one of six suspects from the Casablanca bombings who remained at large. He said Mejjati was considered "a big fish," one of the top leaders in the Moroccan Islamic Combatant Group, a local network that has become increasingly affiliated with al Qaeda.
U.S. Alert
After the attacks in Casablanca and Riyadh, counterterrorism officials in other countries became increasingly alarmed about Mejjati as well.
In September 2003, the FBI issued a worldwide bulletin warning the public to be on the lookout for Mejjati. The notice said he was "being sought for questioning in connection with possible threats against the United States." The FBI also confirmed that he had entered the country between 1997 and 1999.
A U.S. law enforcement agent, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Mejjati entered the United States on at least two occasions during that period, with each stay lasting several months. What he did or where he went during that time is unclear, the official said.
"We frankly do not have a lot of information about him, and most of what we do have has come from interrogations," the official said. "We knew he had the proven ability to travel here, and that is what was a particular concern about him."
Other counterterrorism officials said Mejjati, who was fluent in English, could easily blend into Western societies. Neighbors in Casablanca said he spoke French better than Arabic, the native tongue for most Moroccans.
Investigators said he also had an uncanny ability to change his appearance. Grainy mug shots of Mejjati released by the FBI show a dark-haired man with a scraggly beard. A wanted poster in Morocco portrays a completely different look: a thinner Mejjati wearing glasses and a red-and-white checkered kaffiyeh, or headdress, with a neatly trimmed mustache and no beard.
Mejjati drew fresh attention in Europe after the Madrid train bombings. Although investigators have not confirmed his presence in Spain, they said he worked closely with a suspected ringleader in the plot, another Moroccan named Amer Azizi, who has been indicted by Spanish officials but remains a fugitive.
The investigators said Azizi and Mejjati trained together at militant camps in Afghanistan in the late 1990s and are considered top leaders of the Moroccan Islamic Combatant Group, which allegedly recruited many of the foot soldiers who carried out the attacks in Madrid.
Less than a month after the Madrid explosions, Mejjati's name surfaced again, this time in Belgium. Threatening e-mails sent to several newspapers in Antwerp on April 1, 2004, warned of pending attacks against Jewish targets in the city. The messages were unsigned but contained Mejjati's name in the text and suggested that he had inspired those making the threats.
Belgian authorities said at the time that they did not take the threats seriously, but they became more concerned a few months later when police in a town outside Antwerp arrested a suspected al Qaeda operative named Hussein Mohammed Haski. The arrest set off alarm bells throughout Europe because Haski was known by Moroccan and Saudi officials to be a follower of Mejjati.
Several months earlier, Mejjati and Haski, also a Moroccan, joined 24 others on Saudi Arabia's most wanted list, the only two who were not from the Arabian Peninsula. When Haski surfaced in Belgium, some European counterterrorism officials feared that Mejjati was trying to set up another sleeper cell, this time in their back yard.
The search for Mejjati then shifted to Europe, although some counterterrorism officials speculated that he had sought refuge in more remote areas, such as Pakistan, Iran or along the Syria-Iraq border.
But Saudi security forces last month unexpectedly came across him in the small town of Ar Rass, about 220 miles northwest of Riyadh. After receiving a tip that some militants were in the area, Saudi police surrounded a building and engaged in a fierce gun battle that lasted for three days, according to the Saudi Interior Ministry.
Saudi officials said they killed 15 militants and captured six others. Only after the shooting stopped did they discover that one of the dead was Mejjati. His teenage son, Adam, was also killed.
"He was so good that we had no idea what he was doing," said a Saudi security source who spoke on condition of anonymity. "We had no tangible evidence where he was. The thing we do know is how sophisticated he was and what he was able to set up, inside and outside the kingdom."

Ali Jizer was a speed-reader and he waited with a smile on his face for his two companions to finish their reading. Howard finished next and he also had to smile, looking over at Ali and seeing his smile, the two men almost laughed out loud, but waited for Clarence Newhouse to finish.
When he finished Clarence looked at his two friends smiling and said in his strong southern accent. “What’s so funny?
Ali and Howard can’t contain themselves and started laughing.
With a perplexed look on his face Clarence says, “We just lost some of our brothers killed by the pigs and you two laugh about it. What’s wrong with you?”
This makes the two laugh even harder, after a few seconds Howard forces himself to regain his composure and say, “We are not laughing at you brother, or showing disrespect to the dead. Whoa bloody hell man, I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. I guess you could say I needed that.”
Ali still smiling adds, “Yes, we both needed that laugh, no disrespect was meant for the fallen faithful ever. I can see that you missed the part of the story that wasn’t written, let me explain.”
I read the story, I ain’t stupid Ali,” Clarence answered a little upset with his friends. Just because he doesn’t have a fancy education like you two he starts to think to himself.
Yes you did read the story, but without knowing all of the details that we do, a lot is missed. You see the Intelligence people of the west think they have taken out another leader at the top of al Qaeda. And because of that, they think the movement of the faithful has been hurt. They don’t understand that when one man dies, two more step up and replace him.”
It is true that this is a momentary lose for al Qaeda yes, but that has no bearing on us or what we are doing. The more they look overseas the better; they have no idea of the size or scope of our organization here in America, or that we even exist. Look at the three of us do we look like some bearded desert dwelling, camel riding sword swinging jihadist?”
Well Howard and me don’t fit that picture, but if you stopped shaving for a week and put the right cloths on, I think that you might Ali.”
Howard and Ali both laughed again, then Ali continued, “Yes I might be the son of a Turk but my mother was a blond haired, blue eyed Italian, my blue eyes and lighter skin come from her. I do not have a beard or wear the turban like a lot of my kin wear, or the keffiyeh of the Arabs and the robes they prefer. With out those cloths and by just wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt I fit right in here in San Francisco, in fact, my accent draws less attention then yours does and you’re an American!”
I can’t help that I was born and raised in Alabama, besides that don’t make no difference.”
True my friend very true, but we are getting away from the point I was trying to make, most of the west is focusing their attention on the mid-east or Europe and Asia. They do not know of what we plan, they have no clue of the size or of what or when it will happen.”
Here in America they are being extra careful and go out of their way to chastise their own people and try not to appear as if they are being ‘Islamophobic’ but even that does them no good. We continue to infiltrate our allies through their borders and are making ready to do war here. And what happens to the Americans who worry about what might happen, those who will oppose us in the end. Our unwitting allies on the left ridicule them, attack them in court and on the TV, they stand in their way for wanting to protect their Culture, they hinder the civilian groups that are watching the border any way they can.”
So,” Clarence asks?
Because they are weak minded and do not understand what is coming for them, the left here in America and Europe are our friends for now, they have not learned from history. That being nice to your enemy only insures the destruction of your country, your life style and themselves.”
But enough of what is going to happen, we must concentrate on making it happen.” Ali said focusing the conservation, “In my evening walk Howard, I came upon two houses for rent both with large attached garages and they are less then two blocks apart. Tomorrow visit two different real estate agencies, use two different ID’s and check both of them out. If they fit our needs rent both, and we will have our people move in. I think both places will hold about thirty people each and not draw any unnecessary attention.”
That should be easy enough,” Howard replied.
Good, then you,” indicating Clarence, “will have your friends provide the logistics of moving in the basic furniture first, then our house setting people can pose as students at Berkley. Howard’s contact there will provide the necessary student ID’s, books and schedules that will cover their coming and going, so that two weeks later the weapons for the teams can be delivered as more furniture. And please see to the weekly delivery of food, and other items as needed. Then I want you to set up the communications link besides the phone’s, between the two and linking them to the other six sites.”
My friends, Allah has blessed us we only need four more houses and we will have this city covered, Allah be praised I think we will find them in the next few days. Then we can go back down to Los Angles and help Ayman and his people finish that part of our task, we will have everything ready well before next August when the fighters start to arrive, and go into hiding.”
You still want each rental property to have that false wall in the basement to hide all of the weapons and ammo behind it don’t you,” Clarence asked?
Yes the same, the last four will have to have a larger storage space for the mortars and RPG's. If we find two good properties that are just right we will buy them, then we can bring in a backhoe and dig up the back yard and add a large underground room under the garage we will build to store a large RV in. That way we will have a perfect place for hiding the four ZSU 23mm twin barrel anti-aircraft guns. When we have our day, the world will hear our voice loud and clear, no police force will be able to stand up to us, then our victory will be swift and sweet; so it is written and as it will happen.”
As Kalida has said, ‘The Qur’an (48:29) calls on all Muslims not to love their enemies, but to be merciful to one another and ruthless to the unbelievers.”
America will be held accountable, and I say this is a blow they will never recover from. For now we must forgo the revenge we will exact from them and for what they do in the scared lands. We as brothers in Islam the Ummah [Muslim brotherhood] will hold them responsible for what has happened in the lands of Allah. America and all of its people outside of Islam must pay for every drop of blood spilled by the faithful in our lands.”
As it is written I say to you: With confidence in Allah's victory by our hand, so we must help Allah to spread Islam. In this and as the sun always rises in the east, Allah will bring us victory. Once before we almost ruled the world and the day will come soon when, with Allah’s help, we will indeed rule the entire world. The day will come swiftly after we will rule the United States, and then the whole world. As it is written all men will live in peace and comfort under Allah. Those who oppose us will not have to worry as they burn in the fires of hell for their false beliefs. Allah the Merciful grant me this prayer, as I do your will.”

*Just a note, Federal Prosecutors have videotapes that are used as recruitment tools, by Islamic Radicals. One shows a picture of two men one named Rajal; both men are tearing up and burning an American Flag. Rajal was arrested and appeared before a U.S. Magistrate who ordered him to stand trail on charges for committing credit card fraud of over $400,000. When arrested Mr. R had opened almost three-dozen credit card accounts with various alias and never paid the balance. Where did the money go?
The Magistrate said at the hearing that he would decide later whether to release Mr. R on bond.
Now that’s a good judge, you have a perp who has how many different ID’s and for some reason you’re considering letting him be bailed out?
And in the mid-west the justice system holds a man who has committed no crime, who has roots to the community. And you keep him locked up in jail, no hearing and no bail; sorry I get ahead of my self, that’s two chapters away.
OK Judge go ahead and show the world that your not an ‘Islamphobic’ American, let the perp out, it’s not like we are at war or something like that. Do right by America; just don’t be surprised when he doesn’t show up for trial.
Here in the US of A we trust our judges to be fair? Uh Maybe; Maybe not? The jury is still out on that one.

We Choose Freedom

Three times we were asked if we want freedom,
three times this year we answered,
Yes, each time with a louder voice
Yes, and Yes again..
Thank you America, for our chance,
and for the sacrifice you’re best and bravest,
have paid for in blood, so we could be free too.

One died for your soul and the other for your freedom.

Farris Hassan
Back in December of 2005
There is a struggle in Iraq between good and evil, between those striving for freedom and liberty and those striving for death and destruction. You are aware of the heinous acts of the terrorists: Women and children massacred, innocent aid workers decapitated, indiscriminate murder. You are also aware of the heroic aspirations of the Iraqi people: liberty, democracy, security, normality. Those terrorists are not human but pure evil. For their goals to be thwarted, decent individuals must answer justice's call for help ... So I will.
Life is not about money, fame, or power. Life is about combating the forces of evil in the world, promoting justice, helping the misfortunate, and improving the welfare of our fellow man. Progress requires that we commit ourselves to such goals. We are not here on Earth to hedonistically pleasure ourselves, but to serve each other and the creator. What deed is greater than sacrificing one's luxuries for the benefit of those less blessed? ...
I know I can't do much. I know I can't stop all the carnage and save the innocent. But I also know I can't just sit here ...

I feel guilty living in a big house, driving a nice car, and going to a great school. I feel guilty hanging out with friends in a cafe without the fear of a suicide bomber present. I feel guilty enjoying the multitude of blessings, which I did nothing to deserve, while people in Iraq, many of them much better then me, are in terrible anguish. This inexorable guilt I feel transforms into a boundless empathy for the distress of the misfortunate and into a compassionate love for my fellow man ...
Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless the one who gives them.
Going to Iraq will broaden my mind. We kids at Pine Crest (School) live such sheltered lives. I want to experience during my Christmas the same hardships ordinary Iraqis experience everyday, so that I may better empathize with their distress. I also want to immerse myself in their environment in order to better comprehend the social and political elements ...
I plan on doing humanitarian work with the Red Cross. I will give my mind, body, and spirit to helping Iraqis rebuild their lives. Hopefully I will get the chance to build houses, distribute food supplies, and bring a smile or two to some poor children.
I know going to Iraq will be incredibly risky. There are thousands of people there that desperately want my head. There are millions of people there that mildly prefer my demise merely because I am American. Nevertheless, I will go there to love and help my neighbor in distress, if that endangers my life, so be it ...
If I know what is needed and what is right, but do not act on my moral conscience, I would be a hypocrite. I must do what I say decent individuals should do. I want to live my days so that my nights are not full of regrets. Therefore, I must go.

Here is a 16 year old who has more wisdom then any Anti-War or is that an Anti-American liberal will ever have. He just up and went to Iraq to see for himself first hand, a very brave but foolhardy trip, and he lived to tell his tale, thank the lord for that.
This young man knows that evil is running amok in Iraq and other parts of the world, just waiting for a chance to come in force to America. He knows first hand that evil must be confronted head on and defeated where ever it raises or we will not be able to live in peace.
Oh you skeptics, saying that the youth of America are just a bunch of losers, not concerned about our freedoms. You couldn’t be more wrong unless you’re also a leftist too. Young men and women like Farris are all around wanting the truth, looking for the truth, finding the truth. Our job is to help them train and be ready for what ever.
So if a young man with tattoo’s or body piercing wants to join that’s OK, it’s what’s inside that counts, we have men who tie their hair in a ponytail before they come out for training. With my short-cropped hair I would stand next to them on Lexington green, and be proud to call them Militiamen. Appearances doesn’t count, color doesn’t count, religion doesn’t count. Standing there does count, will you stand with us? I hope so, because America needs us, a lot of us, time is short.

Whenever the government means to invade the rights and liberties of the people,
they always attempt to destroy the Militia -
Elbridge Gerry 1788

The following are true accounts of what is happening daily in America, I have changed the names but not the events. J. Noman
Several years ago the Greens in Missouri were arrested by the IRS on back taxes owned. While attempting to prove they were innocent before a Judge handpicked by the IRS, they were ordered to jail, without a trial. Over one year later the story was getting out into the local media and when many people were showing up in court to protest, they were released and all charges were dropped. (Why do we have to prove our innocence to the IRS?) Why do we have to prove we are innocent for anything? The burden of proof for guilt is suppose to be on the prosecutor.

Now the Feds are at it again here in Kansas.
I don’t know the whole facts behind this story, so I can only guess or surmise on how this came about, and I have added some humor, even though it is no laughing matter. My thanks to the local media; TV and newspaper for the main story but no (truth) or facts article they wrote that gave me this idea.
Discovery
Let me see I think the game is played this way.
Two punks are picked up on Drug charges, and the LEO’s (Law Enforcement Officers) say “We’ll make you a deal give us some one else to arrest and we will make your sentence a little easier. (Rat on a friend, true or not; so we can be seen as doing something to justify our bloated budget, and time wasting jobs.)
Now the two punks are held in separate interrogation rooms so they can’t talk over their lie to get it straight. But in spilling their guts the name Dick Johnson comes up among others.
The two LEO teams say ok they have to see if he and the others named are wanted on any thing and depart.
Meeting in a separate room they compare notes and it just happens that one name mentioned by both punks is Dick Johnson. The head of Detectives says go back and get more on this Dick I’ll check the Database.
One Punk says Dick bought a pound of dope for cash and a pistol.
The other punk says a pound of pot was bought with a Machine gun and that Dick is part of some Secret Militia that hates the government and is hiding out waiting for some disaster to take over the US. That Dick hangs out in a bunker all daylong listening to hate radio, and is busy making more Machineguns while he waits..

Now the two punks can’t give the same story about an innocent man who may or may not have bought the dope. But in having to justify your budget which story do you go with?

Machineguns and Militia’s, hate radio, a person who lives on a smallholding and the only thing that comes from the data base on Dick is that back in 1999, he and some others were questioned about bombs and nothing discovered. It turns out he and some friends were storing food in case Y2K was for real. (My God, we have found some preparedness freaks, I’ll bet they also have the weeks worth of food that Homeland Security has suggested for all Americans to have on hand too.)
Now back to 1999 and after the investigation finds nothing and as Y2K goes by with out a hiccup this matter should have been dropped. But no, once Big Brother has something on you they keep it and add to it, doesn’t matter what, remember its for Public Safety. (Ask the Survivors of 1932-1945 Germany about the Nazi’s, For Public Safety policy and record keeping.)

Promotion ?
Anyway being a good Chief of Detectives he now has two choices on how to handle this serious case?
Do the good cop thing and talk to the local Sheriff where Dicks lives then get a search warrant, ask for a Deputy or two to help and go and look for Drugs and machineguns.
OR
Hey if I can make a name for myself maybe just maybe I can get a cushy Federal job and become somebody of importance, yeah that’s it I’m too big of a fish for this pond I’m stuck in. I’m smarter then these jerks I work with. I’ll call the local bAtf&E boys.

Number 1 is too easy, and no glory for this wants-to-be super cop(where’s my cape). But as you will see it grows all out of proportion too quickly.

So he picks up the Phone and calls the BaTf&E, “Hey how would you guys like to make the news, by busting a Militia Group that is making Machineguns and plans on a killing spree and ruling the Government?” The big D laughs at himself for adding the killing spree and ruling part that ought to interest the F troop guys.
The answer comes back, “Sure that’s our job. What you got?” (This is bureaucratic talk that means ‘any thing to justify our existence we’re game.’)

So a plan is hatched to get all available info about this Militia and on Dick (almost forgot about him), but it’s going to cost big bucks and the local BAtF en E doesn’t have the budget. So they call Chicago and talk to them, “sure we’ll take the job but we ‘Run the Show’ or no dice, got that. (Sounds sort of like one Gangster asking big Al for a favor doesn’t it.)
The KC office intimidated by the Big Boy, timidly says, “OK.”

Investigation
So Chicago takes over, spends lots of money to do many over flights of Dick’s 40 acres taking pictures, still camera and even more on Video, and surprise surprise they discovers that he has an underground storage area. that he uses Solar Energy for power and has a drilled well for water. And off to one side he has what also looks like a rifle range.
In other words because he an independent soul, who doesn’t use the electric grid or rural water, ‘that makes him one of those survival nuts’, that he likes to shoot, and he belongs to the Militia. (Better watch out if you use Solar and have a well, the F troop boys will be looking you up if some drug punk is offered a deal, sneeze’s your name because he knew you from high school, or was it back in Jr. high?)
Oh yes forgot to mention Dick bought the land from a friend a few years ago. That friend had let the local Militia use his rifle range. Dick does like to shoot and because the Militia group is helping improving the range and that adds to the value of his property, agrees to let them continue in its use.
The F troop boys decide this is getting better by the minuet and more money needs to be spent. Call in the Postal inspectors, and the National Park Rangers, has Dick ever bought anything questionable or been to Mt. Rushmore?
By searching through the Data in storage, and yes they find more juicy stuff, over the years he has bought military surplus by the box full and so did the former owner of the land.
Dozens of sleeping bags, some WWII helmets, shirts, trousers, canteens, ammo cans, first aid gear, socks and underwear. Water purification tablets, brief cases, mosquito nets, tent pegs, AND American flags etc. (Sorry no dummy hand grenades like from the Waco parade.)
Oh boy we have hit the mother lode this guy must be the Quartermaster for the whole state of Kansas. Order up some more aerial pictures and have some one tail this guy. 24/7. More $$$ spent.

No record of him visiting Mt. Rushmore, sorry Parks Department! (That’s one fed agency that can be ruled out of participating in this farce. They forgot to check with the Coast Guard to see if he has a license for a life jacket? Hey you never know, when we do the raid we might find one?)

Yes Dick had a large supply of military surplus, but then he makes a living by going to gun shows and selling the stuff for a living, no law broken there. YET!

In milking the two drug punks, (remember them) for more info, Oh yes Dick also has tons of explosives on his place and 100’s of thousands of bullets for his machineguns too.

The top DOG in the B a T f & e, from Chicago almost wets himself thinking with glee, ‘I’m going to be in line for a big promotion when we bust these dirty Militia has-been jerks, boy what a bunch of want-to-be soldiers playing army and trying to overthrow our elected government and perverting the Constitution. If I was British I would say ‘ I’d have their guts for garters,’ but not, so I’ll just have to see them all behind bars.‘ (JN, I served with pride for over 10 years active and reserve time in the Army, we in the militia have quiet a few other people who served in the Army, Air force, Navy and Marines. Almost one third of our people are prior service, some saw combat. So I don’t think we are a bunch of want-to-be. More like a group of been-there, seen-that, so we better prepare for what’s-next, let’s-roll crowd.)

Talking to a neighbor about the range, who hasn’t shot on it, ‘Yes they shot all the time; morning, nights, weekends, holidays, even when I’m on vacation, and during leap year too.”
The F troop agent say’s, “how about machineguns did your hear machinegun fire?” He’s almost drooling as he waits for the correct answer.
The old guy answers, “No I don’t think I ever heard any machinegun fire.”
The agent is disappointed, “OK how about silence then quiet a few people shooting guns all at once, you know like thunder and going on for some time.”
Well come to think of it I did hear that several times, reminded me of being in the Army and on the range for timed qualification. You know quiet, then the Range Sergeant tells you to make ready. You have one minuet to shoot the targets to your front; he blows the whistle and the whole platoon shoots at once.”
The agent leads him on with, “Alright several people shooting all at once, now if a Machinegun was firing at the same time it would be masked by the sounds of the rifles firing, right?”
Don’t know, could be. Now if you’re from the Government you would know if they had a machinegun wouldn’t you,” the farmer asks?
The agent thinks ‘Could be’, I’ll take that as a yes, but answers, “I can’t talk about that, as this is an ongoing investigation. Thank you for your time, have a good day.”

Cost are mounting, get results.
Months have gone by, a large team has been working on this crime, gathering info and getting ready for the big game day, The Raid.
The big cheese is reviewing all the evidence, and says it’s looking good but we need more evidence, I need someone to sneak onto the range at night and get some links and brass. With those we will have enough evidence to ask for a search warrant and arrest Dick. With him in custody, he’ll turn states evidence and we can then round up hundreds of these Home schooling, right wing, religious, militia nut jobs. Get one of the KC people out to pick some of that evidence up now.”
One of the agents speaks up, “Sir I think we will need a search warrant for that. The property is marked by do not trespass signs?”
The hell with that, our right of investigation trumps any STATE LAW on trespassing. Now get me those links and shell casings.”

Well the order is issued and one man is chosen to break the law, His local boss says ‘Don’t worry we are just following orders, if your caught just say, I was just following orders OK.’ (Now where have we heard that before? Hmmm. Wasn’t that at Nuremberg? )

In trespassing on two properties and checking the range late one night, the agent finds some empty fired shell casings but not any links around the firing line. He looks through the trash cans up by the disabled shooters covered bench area, finds more empties but no links, so he slinks back to his car with his meager findings. Then back to the city to write his report.
During the investigation I found the following spent ammunition cases, (pistol) 22, 25, 32 short and long, 38, 9mm (civilian and military), 357, 10 mm, 40 cal, 44 mag, 45 auto. And the following spent (rifle) cases, 22, 22 mag, 223 (civilian and military), 22/250, 30-30, 6 mm, 7mm, 8mm 308 and 30.06 (civilian and Military) 30.40 krag, 45/70 and one .50 cal. case that had been hammered flat.

Do we have a case?
Getting the report the chief stink yelled, “No links, can’t have a machine gun without links, no judge who knows anything won’t issue a warrant with out the links. Order another sneak.”
The number 2 who is slated to lead the raid on Game Day says, “Sir they make machineguns that fire with out links.”
His boss exclaims, “Your kidding me, when did they do this? It must be some new gun I haven’t heard about?”
The #2 tries not to snicker as he says, “No sir, not kidding, and they have for some time, I remembers seeing pictures from the Vietnam War and the troops shooting military rifles on full auto. We could ask one of the techs I’m sure he would know the types of weapons that use magazines.”
The lowest agent present has the dubious honor of taking notes, thinks, ‘what a couple of losers; I’ve got to find another job.’ As he raises his hand to offer advice, the boss notices his presence and acknowledges with a nod.
Sir there are a lot of guns out their that shoot full auto and use magazines, and several of the calibers mentioned are used in them, like the pistol ammo 22, 32, 9mm and 45. And rifles like the 22, 223, 308, 30.06 and the .50 cal. Sir.”
He is answered with a question, “Are you sure about that?”
The lowly agent nods his head and bites his lip to keep from saying, ‘Yes, you dump jack-ass.’

The plan.
The boss then smiles, “Groovy this will help, now find a local federal Judge to issue the warrant. Pick a female one, they don’t know shit, and will believe just about any crap we spoon feed her.”
Sir?”
We did it in Arizona, by swamping her with bull-shit reports, half-truths and slight of hand. Women judges, they are pretty and nice to have around, and easily fooled, remember that and you’ll go far son.”
The lowest agent again raises his hand, and the Main Man nods again. “Sir, we might need some assistance from local authorities, and what day of the week should we plan on?”
Pick a Friday that way most of the militia will be at work, and we won’t have to worry about them responding, And we will need over 100 men, so get as many Deputies as we can, have the Highway patrol with its bomb trailer, and since we asked the post office for info we’ll want some of their people along too. Oh and don’t forget to call the jerk off’s at the FBI either.”
The boss smiled as he added, “That’s called throwing them a bone.”
#2 with a smile says, “Oh yes call those stuck up snobs in the FBI, we’ll show them how a real raid is done, that will teach those SOB’s to look down their nose at us.”

Finding a women judge who knew nothing about guns was easy, in fact she was an anti-gun activists before a judge, (even better no blind justice here). We’ll see if we can arrange to use her as the trail judge too.
Any way the plans were finalized the date chosen, but the FBI suggests let’s pick Dick up on Thursday and question him, we don’t want to run into the Militia and have a shoot out.

The batf & E, agreed (remembering WACO, thank goodness those people were a bunch of religious nuts not a Militia unit in training) and so Dick was picked up, after hours of questioning he wouldn’t admit to owning explosives but he did reload, and he said no to having machine guns or in making them, he freely told them that he had a couple of kits, because years ago he had applied for a license through BATF & E to make them legally. This was confirmed after searching the BATF’s files, and yes he had applied. The FBI asked why wasn’t this brought up before?
All they got back was a dump look, then a shrug of the shoulders and the answer, was a simple, “duh we didn’t know ourselves until now. But that doesn’t matter, he’s a Right wing, Christen, Flag waving, Bible reading, and he Believes in the Constitution MILITIA NUT, with not one speeding ticket. Now that’s enough to get him tossed in jail for life.”
Oh yes! Almost forgot to ask, Dick have you every used, or been in a room that people were using weed. Hung out with folks that smoked dope, do you know any one who uses drugs, sell drugs, gives drugs to their parents, horses or dogs. Do you know what a hemp plant, spinach plant or mustard green looks like. I want the truth son, just a simple answer will do, YES or no.”
Sir what part of the question ….”
Shut up Dick and listen to me, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ENGLISH?”
Yes I understand Eng….”
You don’t need to explain, I got what I need.” He’s now thinking we can splice that yes into the taped confession any place we need it.”
The FBI is starting to think, what are we in for tomorrow? If this is their idea of an interrogation then the raid might not go any better? As the think, did anyone read Dick his Miranda rights?

Game day, (Ha, Ha, it’s wabbit season) ((and they wonder why we call them Elmer Fud))
It takes several hours to assemble the needed deputies as this is rural Kansas and the surrounding counties don’t have a large force on hand. The state troopers show up, and a couple of Postal Inspectors too. And a hand full of FBI in suits stands to one side to observe. They have well over 100 men for the raid, plus another 20 men for each of the three roadblocks and all of the BATF&E agents are dressed in black and holding machineguns. Don’t we look cool!
A plane circles the property for almost an hour scaring Dicks friend and he attempts to leave but is stopped at one of the check points by 20 agents armed to the teeth, all of them dressed in black wearing a coal scuttle type helmet, our Federal agents. He is hand cuffed and whisked away to be interrogated about how many Militia are in hiding on the property to ambush them. His answer “None, why”???

The man in charge say’s “He’s lying, the dirty Christian militias always lie. We have enough men, have them spread out in a large circle and close in on ‘the Compound’.” (How come a church or a homestead always becomes a Compound.)?
Of course the BOSS stays back in the command post, he’s safe; if there are militia out there he should be OK here, but he puts on a bulletproof vest just in case and as an afterthought a helmet too. The FBI agent present and the local LEO’s hold their laughter, but it’s hard, the dumb smuck has the helmet on backwards, he can’t see forward only down at the table or at his feet.

Making the noose.
As the men and women are dropped off along the roads, around the adjoining properties, this is a total road distance of over 3 miles, and they are spread out pretty thin. Then they are given the order to advance, this takes some of them coming from the north almost an hour as they have about a mile to cover, across creeks and through thick scrub and woods. Eventually they are able to finally surround the home site, oops sorry the ‘Compound’ with one man every ten yards or so. Some are even closer to each other out of fear. As this is the land of OZ remember, ‘lions and tigers, and bears oh my.’
Dressed in their raid, Black BDU’s they stand out like a certain actresses size D, whoops sorry never mind. Less just say that Black BDU’s in the late winter mid-west woods, is a tactical no-no.
If the Militia were waiting in ambush it would be like shooting fish in a barrel, and the militia wouldn’t be the fish. It’s a good thing they are at their jobs working to pay the millions in taxes this charade has cost so far, Talk about a dog and pony show! Or is this a goat-roping contest?
I’m not telling you anything new but this is one out of control agency that seriously needs some adult supervision! Better yet fire them all and role the few tax enforcement jobs into the IRS.
Don’t mix the rest in with any other Federal agency; G. Gordon Liddy says it best, “If you mix dirty water with clean water, you end up with dirty water!”

Now what happens to the property owner next door, who hears his dogs barking like crazy? So he opens a blind and there is a man dressed in black with his back toward him and it looks like he is trying to hide from Dick’s property behind a small bush with no leaves on it.
He raps on the window to get this guys attention, and the man out side just about jumps out of his black suit. Turning toward him, the agent gives the old man the one finger peace sign and motions for him to close the blind, which he does.
To keep his smallest dog quiet he picks her up, and then steps outside to find out what is going on. Another man in black yells at him but he has a black facemask on to protect him from the 55 degree cold winter day. The old man doesn’t understand what the agent has said, and asks, “What did you say?”
Taking a few steps in his direction the agent pulls down the mask points his machine gun at the old man and yell’s, “Get the FUCK back into the house you old shit.”
Which he does promptly, the agent really didn’t need to cuss or threaten him with a Machine gun. (Hmmm wonder is this agent is registered in the state of Kansas to have that, or has paid the $200 stamp tax to the Feds.? Silly me, he works for the Feds, he doesn’t have to abide by the same laws you and I do.)

Soon two FBI guys dressed in suits and ties, come to this old guys door and apologize for the rude incident, and tell him a little about what is going on. They ask to search the house, just in case there’s someone hiding under the bed. The old man call’s his attorney and tells him of the request. The attorney say’s OK, reluctantly. Knowing that if the old guy pisses them off and makes them get a warrant, they will trash the place and still find nothing. (that’s the old ‘give up a right or we will destroy your home, game.’ Just because we can; we’re from the Government and we are here to serve and protect.)
The old man says’ OK and what happens, a big nothing found. (Nope no Militia hiding in the hall closet or under the bed. They did forget to look under the kitchen sink though.)

Over at Dick’s place, they find no one waiting in ambush, just as his friend said they would. But only after trashing the doors to the campers and breaking out the windows (now why do that?)
Then instead of using the keys given freely by Dick, they start breaking the doors down on the tool shed and the two small houses they are building, DAMN no machine guns found either. Then off they go to the vehicles and trashing them too, one of them so bad the drivers door won’t close properly.
So they now head for The Bunker (Dick’s under ground storage).

Now I have thought about this subject for some time and it just doesn’t compute. I must be dense I guess, but someone tell me please ‘I got’s to know’. How is a bunker dangerous to the government? I mean is some one going to invent one on wheels and roll it down a hill at them?

Again they decide not to use the keys from Dick but decide to cut the lock any way, what the heck it’s not their dime to replace it or the doors, or the windows, just yours and my taxes being wasted.
Sending a brave soul down to make sure no booby-traps, then several more agents to look, aw- haw the mother lode. Two boxes full of machine guns one of them a belt fed sniper rifle? And one with the ability to take out tanks? Honest to God folks that’s what the local news said on their evening broadcast after trespassing on private property. (Local TV reporters are so smart. One box holds a 1919 parts kit, the other a M2 50 cal. parts kit.)

NOW this is the bATf&E circus, they should know the difference between parts kits on the spot and real machine guns. If not our government ran education system really needs to be scraped and these guys need to get some real military training.
Or fired!
Come on, for Christ sake, its their job to know the difference.

So they start hauling out his rifles, mostly bolt action and some ammo. And of course the bad stuff the reloading supplies, you know empty shell cases, primers, powder and bullets. After awhile they get tired and leave most of it, no one told them they had to work at this job and break a sweat.
Besides they have the guns now. Oh yes forgot to mention their might have been some DEA agents involved in the raid too, remember this started out as a DRUG BUST. No Drugs found either, double damn again.
Maybe that’s why they broke the windows? Sniffing for Drugs?

The next week Wednesday is the hearing before the Judge who dislikes guns, and the BatF&e have to present their charges and the machine guns.
After listening to the so-called charges Dick’s Attorney says, “Well where are the machine guns or the drugs?”
The Judge remembers her duty for just for a minuet and says “good question.” And looks at the Federal prosecutor.
He shrugs his shoulders and said “Oops sorry, we didn’t find any drugs. And the machine guns were hauled in and we worked them over trying to assemble at least one, but soon found out that these are both legal to own parts kits. So in legal terms, a Non-gun your honor.”
The Judge says, “a Non-gun are they dangerous, and how many people are killed each year by one?” Now she’s ready to put Dick and any Militia they find away for two life times, and make their children go to jail too, just to show how tough she is on people owning guns, I mean illegal guns that is. She may not know what’s illegal but that’s for her pals in the BATF&E to tell her. (Talk about ignorance of the law.)

The Federal Prosecutor say’s, “Sorry your Judgeship but there is no crime and no reason to hold onto Dick any longer?”

Suddenly a light switch is flicked on in the Judges mind, and she starts to get the feeling that she is the horse’s ass, used by the Batf&e to make headlines. Talk about operation ‘Show time’ all over again. (That was name of the raid in Waco by the BATF&E. It was budget time then, same as now, so make a big arrest all aspects are video taped and ready to release to a friendly news service. All for show, {sorry about killing women and children…not} and of course the goal was to try to get more money from congress, so we can buy some more expensive toys. While our troops on the front lines in Iraq do with out. But that’s OK we are just following orders, Orders that are from Illegal laws passed by congress.) In Marbury VS. Madison the supreme court ruled that the ‘Constitution of the United States confirms and strengthens the principle, supposed to be essential to all written constitutions, that a law repugnant to the constitution is void, and that courts, as well as other departments, are bound by that instrument.’
So Dick was suppose to be released on a signature bond, even thought he had no charges pending. But.
The good folks at F troop convinced the judge later to hold him because he had all this reloading powder and supplies, and there has to be a law somewhere that he violated. I mean having all that powder was dangerous and someone might get hurt.
(Come-on it was stored in a bunker, BATF&E own words, under ground. That’s a lot better then the local Commie-Mart storage.)
And Dick just might lead them to the Militia.

At the end I have attached the statutes from the State Of Kansas, they list who is in the Militia. Everyone with a few exceptions, everyone folks, that means you too.

Our Militia the Kansas Militia has had a table at most local Gun Shows the last ten years.
Our meetings and training are open to all who wish to see for themselves.
We have done CPR and Red Cross training. We teach map and compass and radio classes to help, and if necessary supply volunteers to local law enforcement for search parties, if someone becomes lost.
Two years ago we were out after the Tornadoes ripped through the area helping to clean up. And again last year in many parts of the state helping our neighbors.
We do this because we are part of our community and all of us need to help, it is the American thing to do. We pay for our uniforms for all of our equipment and for any outside training, nothing comes from any level of Government. (except scorn)

We do these things in our own time after work or on weekends. Some even take sick days of if needed and help. And a few of us took vacation days to help out down in Arizona on the border.
I didn’t see any local FBI, or BATF groups cleaning up after the tornadoes, I’m not saying they weren’t out helping. I just didn’t see them, but we were there because it’s our community.

Government can’t do everything for us; if it did, we couldn’t afford it, and we wouldn’t like it directing our live so closely. It didn’t work in Russia, so why do they think it will work here?

The old man the BATF&E had talked to during the investigation about maybe hearing Machine gun fire had told them,
That this militia is out in the open, it has a booth at gun shows, trains in public sometimes at the community centers, and is known to local LEO’s etc. It’s not a secret group.’

As for the local fed agents, they have done nothing to stop the bad apples among them. They know that this militia has never caused any trouble. It’s the gang from Chicago (that has treated the locals LEO”S like dirt) that are convinced they have found something. They only heard what they wanted to hear (from real felons) and acted on it without seeking the advice of local Fed’s or LEO’s.
To them we are guilty, now prove your innocent? The Chicago boys want to make this militia the enemy. They don’t understand, we stand on the side of the United States Constitution! Where do they stand?
Are we back to, ‘We have to prove our innocence or get locked up.’ All just because they can. King George tried that, and got his come-up-pence in 1776. It's only a matter of time before they push to far, and it will happen to them too.

Sometimes things that happen on a TV show or is said in the movies are more truth then we care to believe, and I do believe in the following;
"With the first link, a chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably." – Picard ("The Drumhead") and I add, “when one man is jailed unjustly, and we do nothing. Then we are all in peril.”

So our path is clear, and we must harden our hearts for the task ahead, come hell or high water,
We must first recognize that evil exists in the world, in many forms and you either fight it or do nothing and let it rule over you. As for men of honor, the latter course is never an option.’ Call your Reps and Senators tell them what happened and then watch their vote on what they do or don’t do to set Dick free, or charge those who tried to set him up.”

Despicable people are still holding Dick as I write this, on flimsy accusations, no bail and no charges filed. (Later he was sentenced to two years for association with drug users, and selling them a weapon. He served one year and was released, with a felony record now he can’t ever own a weapon again.)
Like the Greens were held, just because the Judge is ignorant of the law, and agents of the Federal government can get away with lying, or worse; all with out worrying about being fired or jailed.
It’s not the same American I joined the Army years ago to defend, or the same America my Dad fought for in WWII. This is wrong and we the good people of America must let our elected officials in Washington D.C., and Topeka Kansas know it too. They must change it back or we will all lose, first our freedoms then our country.

We the people don’t mind paying for the war on terror, and for the cost of proper government activities. But to have to pay for keystone cop antics, then having to defend our selves in court, against people who waste our taxes, pervert the law, lie in court, and fabricate false evidence. They are the one’s that need to be punished, to be locked up and lose their rights.
All I can say is that ‘well, losing their job would be a good start, and some jail time when they break the laws sounds only right. Because they don’t want to look foolish or incompetent they lock up and persecute a man with out proof by using lies and intimidation; that is not right.
State and Federal statues call us, the people the unorganized Militia, it means every one of us are to be involved. To live in a free country we all have responsibilities, of serving on Jury Duty and being in the Militia it’s your duty as a citizen, if you’re a patriot it’s past time to get organized, and to be involved.”

Both the State and Federal Constitutions clearly say that Everyone with a few exceptions are the Militia. And both Constitutions direct the Law-makers (elected people) to provide for the Militia, why are they able to ignore the law?
Most of them can plead, ‘but I didn’t know that part of the law.’
Now try that excuse when you get a ticket for a broken or burnt out taillight!

Constitution of the State of Kansas
Article 8. —MILITIA

(Note; this is in the State Constitution, laws dealing with the national guard are separate.)

China Attacks U.S. Satellites
Charles R. Smith
Friday, Sept. 29, 2006
China has fired a new and powerful land-based laser at U.S. spacecraft in an attempt to blind American space reconnaissance.
The report that China is firing lasers at U.S. satellites first appeared in the military affairs publication Defense News and on the Web site Strategypage.com.
The Chinese laser attacks have been kept secret by the Bush administration because of concerns that the news could damage relations with Beijing. The Bush administration has long held hope that China could help diplomatic efforts with Iran and North Korea.
The attacks reportedly have been ongoing for nearly three years.
The damage done by the Chinese against U.S. spacecraft has not been released.
According to the reports, senior officials stated that American satellites have come under attack "several times" in recent years. The laser attacks are a violation of space treaties signed by China and can be considered an act of war according to international law.
The laser attacks have raised alarms inside the U.S. military and intelligence community who depend on space based reconnaissance satellites. U.S. satellites are considered critical for U.S. defense and global military/intelligence operations.
"Flagrant communist abuse plus Washington going Ostrich equals tragedy for the American people. If history has taught us anything, it's that every time we show an enemy our tail feathers, they oblige us with both boots," stated Rick Fisher, vice president of the International Assessment and Strategy Center.
"So far the press coverage has missed an important dimension. The tortured language in the DoD PLA report about Chinese use of ground-based lasers dates back to the very first such report in 1998. This indicates to me that Chinese lasing of critical U.S. satellites may preceed that date. But by how much, clearly, our Ostrich-inclinded bureaucracy is loathe to admit," noted Fisher.
"But is it possible that for a decade now, the PLA has had the ability to launch a 'Pearl Harbor' attack against U.S. assets in space? And during the very same period, China has been the global champion of an outer space treaty that would limit U.S. military activities in space, all the while they have been developing their own," stated Fisher. "But one can legitimately ask: Why has the Bush administration continued in a practice of self-censorship clearly started by the Clinton Administration?
"What advantage has been gained by denying the American people critical information that hyper-expensive space technology fundemental to their security has been vulnerable to attack, potentially, since before this decade? Has China in any way stopped its development of space weapons, its proliferation of missiles, its diplomatic protection of Iran and North Korea because we decided not to tell the truth about this attack on America in space?" asked Fisher.
Access to U.S. Space Technology
The news of the Chinese laser attacks comes at the same time the Bush administration announced that it intends to extend a waiver allowing Beijing access to U.S. space technology. The waiver published in the Federal Register by the State Department allows China continued access to U.S. space technology despite violations of nuclear and missile proliferation.
"Ultimately, the pass on the China nuclear waiver coincides with the visit of the U.S. Treasury secretary to Beijing and Ju Jintao's minuet on promises for economic reforms while doing little more than cosmetic adjustments on currency and the trade deficit," stated Al Santoli, director of the Asia-America Initiative, a Washington based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting democratic ideals, strengthening international security, and mediating in conflict-plagued areas throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
"It should be clear to all American policy-makers and the public that there is no single significant national security threat to the United States greater than China's nuclear ballistic missile expansion. This is especially pertinent with China's submarine-based MIRVs that are the developing the range and mobility to hit almost any area of the United States," noted Santoli.
"The waiver also gives Beijing a lack of respect for the Bush administration in holding to its promises to cease proliferation of strategic weapons technologies and materials to rogue states," stated Santoli.
"A third factor, is that it will radicalize Japan to develop nuclear weapons in its own defense, which will alienate other American allies in the Asia Pacific region, including South Korea, who see emerging Japanese nationalism and remember Japanese occupation of their homelands with great fear and sadness," noted Santoli.
The Chinese attacks on U.S. satellites come as no surprise to NewsMax readers. In fact, I reported in 2004 that U.S. military satellites had suffered a number of attacks by a ground based laser system. At that time Pentagon officials refused to identify the sources of the laser attacks.
I first published reports and diagrams of a Chinese anti-satellite laser which surfaced in a 1998 Pentagon report. "The table shows a requirement for a 4 meter diameter beam director mirror for an anti-satellite mission," noted the report describing Chinese military efforts.
The report noted that comments from the director of the Beijing Institute of Remote Sensing and a report issued by the Chinese 1028th Research Institute of the Ministry of Information Industry showed that the People's Liberation Army (PLA) was actively developing lasers for space warfare.
Prelude to War? Who knows?
"This scandal is so sadly similar to the revelations in 1976 that the Soviet Union had been beaming microwaves against our embassy in Moscow for 15 years.
"Back then it was reported that Henry Kissinger did not want to make a fuss because of larger diplomatic stakes with the Soviets. So as a result it is possible we helped some Americans get cancer and die early," stated Rick Fisher from the International Assessment and Strategy Center.
"Today the stakes now affect us all: If China succeeded in blinding our imaging satellites or putting our communication satellites out of commission, we would very likely lose a rapid-punch Chinese-style war over Taiwan or in Central Asia.
"With that, the global balance of power would shift against America until we won the next war, which you can bet would entail a horrific price," concluded Fisher.
There should be no mistake, these are direct attacks on U.S. assets operating in international space according to law. The blatant violations and the attacks will continue until something is done.
The Chinese attacks in space, the proliferation of advanced Chinese missiles to Hezbollah, Beijing's growing nuclear arsenal, and the lack of response by Washington all adds up to appeasement.
It is said that a coward's way out of war is to cut and run. However, a coward's way into war is appeasement.
Now back to the story.

The other side of the World
You were correct in your assessment of the American people Xo. They don’t understand the world and it’s harsh reality. They choose the candidate that makes promises of a easy life for them, not one who knows of its dark side.”
Admiral Ju, it was too easy. The Americans have always tired of a war that last more then four years. They have the attention span of children, and their news media is full of liberals who will sell their own children if necessary to achieve power for their side. It has been that way since they fought in Vietnam, and it will be their death. My agents told me they would fight against their own people whom they consider conservative rather then against a common enemy. That they despise and have hate for them, all because they hate themselves.”
The decadent always hates the moral ones, it’s their nature.”
So true Admiral, so true. Do you know that in the run up to the election the new vice president said that if the American people elected as their leader a man with so little experience, he would be tested within six months?”
Ju laughed as he tried to say, “He will have a little more time then that.”
Xo smiled in return as he replied, “Yes a little more time will be allowed. But even with that time he will still fail the test, it’s not within him to find the steel necessary to pass our test. A great nation must be lead by great men, not career politicians. And that is all that America have left, career politicians. And the world is too complex for politicians anymore.”
Ju in jest asked, “But haven’t you become a politician?”
Xo, with a sly smile showing shot back, “I was a professional soldier first, willing to give my life for my country if necessary. I’m still a soldier as you are still a sailor; we are serving our country by doing the job of a politician. But very few professional politicians are willing to give their life for their country. That is the difference, one we must never forget, otherwise the politicians will take over again and the whole world will be a mess once more.”
Excuse me Xo, I didn’t mean to irk you. I was just joking.”
No need to apologize my friend, I’m not mad or upset with you. But with the weak men who attempt to rule the world, the ones who are easily corrupted and influenced by weaker men. Ones who dream of glory, not of serving.”
Yet some of the politicians want to wait, saying the west will fall from within. Fall from run away inflation, their currencies worthless, money that buys nothing. That if might happen in the next ten years fifteen at the most. That we will have all of there factories, here and in their countries where we produce all of their goods for them.”
That idea that they will fall is just a dream. I don't see that happening, if they become like third world countries, then they will behave like third world countries, defaulting on debts, nationalizing factories, facilities, seizing the land with minerals and oil that belong to us. Paid by us with their useless money that they used to buy products from us, from our people and their labors.”
Fall they will, and our Armies will insure that happens soon, very soon.”

Friends We Didn’t Know We Had

In prosperity our friends know us;
in adversity we know our friends
-
John Churton Collins

"The time for war has not yet come, but it will come and that soon, and when it does come, my advice is to draw the sword and throw away the scabbard."
Gen. T.J. Jackson, March 1861

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
Thomas Jefferson,

It’s seven-thirty in the evening; Dan and Evelyn are in the kitchen talking about the day’s events over a cup of tea, when the phone rings. Before either can say a thing, Gavin hollers, “I’ll get it,” as he picks up the phone in the computer/ study room.
They hear him say, “Hell-o,” a phase, “no this is his son Gavin,” another phase, “if you’ll hold a sec I’ll ask him to come to the phone,” then another short phase.
Gavin comes into the kitchen and says, “Dad it’s for you, it’s some guy, he says you might not remember him from your college days, a Mr. Buck Williamson? Any way, he would like a word with you.”
Dan standing up looks at Evelyn and shrugs his shoulders, “Don’t recall the name, but that was almost 30 years ago.” With a smile he then says, “They say the first thing to go is the memory, can’t remember what the second thing is though,” as he heads to take the phone in the computer room.
Gavin follows him in and picks up his history book from the seat of the lazy boy and tells his dad, “I’ll finish reading the chapter in my room, only a couple paragraphs left.”
Dan says, “Thanks Gavin,” as he picks up the phone and say’s, “this is Dan, can I help you?”
The man on the other end answers, “Dan Marion, this is Buck Williamson, when your son answered the phone I thought it was you, he sounded older.”
Dan still wasn’t sure who he was talking to but he answered to be polite, “He’s just turned 21 and Gavin is about an inch taller than I am, time flies and our children grow even faster.”
You’re telling me, my youngest son finishes at the University in Lawrence next spring. Anyway I don’t know if you remember me or not, I was a freshman taking classes when you were a senior, we were both in ROTC together at state?”
Dan perplexed said, “Not really? I can get out my old year book and look you up, maybe seeing your picture would help?”
Buck laughed, “I’ve put on thirty pounds and lost most of my hair since that picture was taken.”
Dan chuckled in reply, “I know all about the weight, I’ve gained almost the same amount, but I still have most of my hair.” Dan had his yearbooks out and was looking at Bucks picture, he was wearing his ROTC uniform and you could clearly see the defiant look in his eye of pride. Most people in ‘74’ didn’t want to be seen associated with the Army in any way, but Buck looked as if he was daring people to say something.
You could hear the grin that Buck was wearing as he said, “Almost thirty years and thirty pounds each, I guess that’s not to bad for the two of us. You might recall that I was older then the average college freshman, I had spent four years in the Army, did two tours of Nam and started the fall classes a week late?”
Dan answered, “I’ve got the year book open and I’m looking at your picture, that’s helped. You made cadet Sgt. in the spring, if I recall right, because of your time in service.”
That’s right, and one of the assistant Military instructors was one of my former Company commanders from Nam, that was the reason I chose state.”
Anyway Dan I don’t call to talk about our old University days. I hear you are actively involved in the Militia movement; I live down near El Dorado and I’ve talked to a couple of the people here in the local unit. There good people and all but I’ve been thinking if I join I would like to have my own unit, be sort of independent to the other battalions but in the position to help everyone for special jobs, training and all.”
Dan wasn’t sure what Buck was getting at so he said. “We don’t have any special forces units, all former Rangers, Green Beret’s, Seals and such are integrated right into our units to teach the skills to all of our members. The only special units we have are in our recon platoons in the battalions, of course we have service and support like medical or communications, our kitchen sections, the small units with engineers and the few guys who own duce-an-half’s and such they make up our transport platoons.”
Buck gave a good laugh, “You don’t really know who I am except for the picture from the year book and what you remember from the ROTC days do you?”
Dan paused to think for a second, not wanting Buck to get annoyed with him so he just said the truth. “No Buck I don’t know you or really recall that much about you, it has been a long time and people grow and acquire lots of friends in almost thirty years. I’m willing to listen, to hear what you have to offer. If you present a good case I’ll but it to a vote at our next command meeting. You would be welcome to come and meet everyone and to sale your idea if you wanted to.”
To show you an example that we are open to new ideas, less then six months ago a 65 year old man approached us with the plan that we needed a Doctors Corp and a full fledge MASH unit, he wasn’t telling us something that we had overlooked, beside one doctor who has been with us for years we just didn’t have anyone who had the resources or knew the people who wanted to be involved.”
To make a long story short, he was a retired Air Force Colonel and flight surgeon, he knew of some other semi-retired doctors and several young ones too, around the state that wanted to be involved. So they formed their own medical unit complete with tents, two mobile operating theaters, recovering wards the whole nine yards.”
The medical company now has over thirty trained medical people 12 of them doctors alone, and a good forty others for support and related services. That’s 70 plus people, just one man got them to join in, pony up and purchase or provided the equipment needed. Out side of our two engineer platoons and there privately owned equipment, the medical people have the most expensive gear and they provided 98% of the items they needed with out asking for help from the rest of us.”
The four separate battalions collected funds and purchased two GP Medium tents to help out. Most of our units are on their own to purchase the needed equipment, this fosters teamwork and they know that the equipment belongs to them, so they do a good job trying to maintain it.”
Buck again laughed as he said, “Fair enough. Have you got a little time so I can explain what I have and what I propose?”
Excuse me for just a second,” Dan asked, as Evelyn came in she said, “I heard a little of what you said so I know its Militia related, I’ll warm your tea in the microwave then check in on the kids homework, call me if you need anything.”
Dan gave her a smile and a wink as he said, “Thanks love.”
Dan then said to Buck, “Go ahead, it’s your dime.”
Buck said, “Right after high school I got drafted and served a four year hitch, my old man could have pulled strings and got me a deferment, but I insisted on serving. He had been drafted in World War II and he took pride in serving, so off I went; like father, like son.”
I made Sergeant, and was seriously thinking about a career but I knew I should get a degree and go back as an officer. That’s why I was at State and where I met you, but just before my third year at state my older brother had a bad accident that left him a paraplegic, so I knew a career in the Army was out as my parents needed someone to run the family business, so I changed my major to Business Management. When I graduated I got a Reserve Commission and only had to attend Basic Armor Course at Fort Knox, and then a direct posting to an Independent Ready Reserve unit, that’s IRR for short, I finished my reserve service as a Captain and got out and busy with my job. I’ve heard about the Kansas Militia off and on for the last few years, and recently my best friend said we ought to get involved. And so with my experience from Nam, and some equipment I’ve bought over the years, I was thinking maybe about helping form a Armored Cavalry unit.”
Dan injected, “A tread head, that’s what I was too for four years active, then I got out and went overseas for a while. When I returned I went back in as an IRR, and they gave me a couple of Cavalry and Armor assignments, small world isn’t it.”
Yes it is,” Buck said, “maybe you’ll understand my desire about wanting to form an Armor unit. You see in Nam I was with Troop C, 3d Squadron, 5th Cavalry and that’s the type of a unit I had in mind.”
I almost don’t believe this Buck,” Dan said as he laughed, “you see I was in A Squadron 3/5 when I was up at Fort Lewis. Our equipment was your old equipment from Nam when they shipped it back to the states. What year were you in country?”
I served two back to back tours in Nam started in October of 70’ through most of 71’. back to the states for one month then from early January 72’ until the end of the year. Another month R&R and then finished up in Germany for my active duty time.”
Dan asked, “What was the unit called in Nam?”
Buck answered, “The Bastard Cav, the Black Knights.”
Alright Buck what was the unit’s pledge?”
I haven’t said it in a long time, I think it starts,”

If you are wounded,
I will carry you.
If your are captured,’
Dan joined in with him as they both quoted from memory,
I will come for you.
And if you are killed,
I will always remember you.’

Dan and Buck both chuckled at remembering the pledge, Buck said, “Man does that brings back some memories.”
We in the Militia welcome new ideas, but a Cav. unit? I never gave it that much thought. Most of our guys find it hard enough to buy equipment for themselves, it cost almost $1,000 just for the basics and a good rifle, and that’s getting a lot of help in the form of a discounts from the surplus dealers we have in the group. I really can’t see raising the money to buy one APC or even a couple of Ferret scout cars. As I said we do have a dozen duce-an-half trucks, but they are owned by the individuals who maintain them and provide their own insurance, and such.”
Buck let out a hearty laugh as he said, “You haven’t a clue who I am do you Dan,” as he continued to laugh. “I’m not laughing at you Dan, don’t get me wrong. My family usually has over a hundred unsolicited phone calls a month. Asking us to invest in this or that, or give to this charity and help these people, loans for all types of schemes, it goes on and on. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not bragging, but my family is very well off. As a back ground, here’s a short history of my family.”
The Williamson families have lived in the El Dorado area since the early days of the Santa Fe trail. Over 160 years ago my ancestors were some of the first settlers in the area, and two of the brothers who happened to be twins married into the Comanche nation. To make a long story short we bought or acquired a lot of land to raise cattle, at one time our family owned almost a quarter million acres. They made good money from cattle, that’s until 1915; when oil was discovered under our land.”
Buck paused for just a second then continued, “Which brings us almost up to date. You see since then and especially in the last 30 years have seen my family’s fortune grow expediential, and we are worth more then I care to talk about. I’m not bragging but just telling you, so you can see where I’m coming from!”
Dan was mildly shocked to say the least, all he could say was, “And you want to join the Militia. I mean we welcome patriots for whatever reason they wish to join. My this is a surprise, opps I’m sorry, I didn’t intentionally want that to slip out.”
I still would like to join, if you’ll have me?”
Buck you would be more then welcome to join, I can send you a complete information packet if you’ll give me your address, or you can get it from our web site.” Dan knows he’s not making much sense so he shuts up.
Buck laughs again, “Hope I didn’t shock you too bad Dan. But I’m serious, I want to join and make a difference. I don’t think the phone is a good way to talk this over; I like face-to-face meetings, are you free all day tomorrow?”
Dan looking at his day planner for Saturday an answers, “I’ve got nothing that can’t be changed, yes I would like to meet and I would like to include a couple of friends, the Battalion XO William Summers and the Battalion Sergeant Major, Cody Wolf if you don’t mind, that’s if they haven’t got anything else planned or they need to do?”
That’s alright, can you guys be ready at 6 AM and at the.. what’s the closest airfield to you guys that will take a small corporate jet?”
Topeka is the closest that I know of.”
Good, I know the people at Forbes field, if I fly up and get you guys it would beat your having to drive the three hours both ways, to and from my vehicle storage facility. We can eat breakfast on board and it will give us some time to talk, and a chance to voice some of my concerns. You’ll get a free flight, with breakfast and lunch thrown in, besides I also want to show you my vehicle collection and air storage facilities out by Hutchinson. The family has close to thirty-five thousand acres in one large track there, we could use a sizable portion of it to train on.”
I’m not meaning to slow you down or anything Buck but I would have to call you back after talking to William and Cody, that’s the XO and the CSM,” Dan answered.
I’ll have to call you back Dan we are presently at 28,00 feet over Western Colorado, would an hour, be enough time?”
Tell you what, I’ll be at the Topeka field at 6 AM, I’m sure they will both want to be there too.”
Buck laughed again, “That’s good enough. I’ll meet you at the Air National Guard Flight Ops Center at 6 AM, and if you want to bring along any more guys the Jet will hold 12 passengers. So you could have 10 people in your party if you want, I’ll have one other person with me, he’s a collector of big toys too. So we will see you then, OK?
I don’t want to wear out our welcome, but I know my oldest son Gavin who answered the phone, would jump at the chance to fly. He’s 21 that’s if you don’t mind?”
That’s ok bring your son along, and I’ll see if my nephew is available too, he’s 22 and he’s an even bigger gun nut then me, it would be good to have the two young men tag along, they always ask questions that us old farts forget to ask. I’ll call the Air Guard so they know your coming in tomorrow and have a place for you guys to park your wheels, their HQ is on the west side of the field. See you then, Bye.”
After hanging the phone up Dan set for a few minuets thinking, this seemed like it was all too eerie, so surreal. In fact did he just have this conservation or was it a daydream?
Then with a whoop and holler he let out a loud “All right,” and hurried to tell the family and then back to call William and Cody and set up the early morning meeting.
It took a little over an hour and less then six calls going out and four coming back in, but it was set up for a total of eight members of the Militia to make the trip in the morning. Dan wondered if he would be able to get to sleep tonight, he felt just like a five year old on Christmas Eve, he was trying hard not to let his hopes run wild, but the possibilities this offer presented for the units= were almost beyond belief? Then just as quickly, they were tempered by thoughts of what does Buck want in return? If it’s a command position, he will have to be voted in just like every other unit Commander has been. We can’t and won’t change the by-laws to suit one person, it doesn’t matter what toys he brings along.
Sleep came easier then expected.

That was a very good breakfast Mr. Williamson, especially the country ham,” Gavin said as he helped clean up the plates from breakfast and carry them back to the galley. “For some reason I expected you to have a chef and a stewardess on your jet to do these chores.”
Buck let out a hearty laugh, “I like your approach Gavin your direct, you speak your mind. Most of the time there is a chef and a steward on board to do that work, I’m usually to busy with my own work and or planning more work or I’m up front still learning to flying the jet. But it’s been a busy week for both of them and having been away from their families, so I gave them the weekend off. If you ever have your own business, that’s one of the secrets behind having and keeping quality help, treat them with respect. Besides a little cooking and cleaning up after others now and then keeps us humble, reminds us of what Jesus tried to teach by doing, that as a good Christian no one is above helping serve others.” With a chuckle he added, “ And I guess you could say I’m a bit of a show off too.”
Gavin looking the host straight in the eyes ask, “How so sir.”
Again Buck laughs as he stacks the dishes in the dishwasher, and replies , “I like to cook, I have gone to several short cooking courses and I think I’m a fair cook what do you think?”
It was a very good breakfast sir, but half of a cooks work is having good products to start with.”
Buck was having a good laugh at himself, Gavin had a sharp wit and an easy delivery to let his ego down. “My father insisted that all his boys and daughters knew how to cook the basics, he would remind us that any fool can burn food. As for the fixings well the meat and eggs for our breakfast came from a local farmer down by Emporia. I’ve known him most of my life, he is the same age as my older brother. I have made it a policy to support our local producers and always encourage others to do the same, I buy American in almost all aspects of my daily and business life or as much as I can anyway.”
Not to seem rude sir,” Gavin answers. “But I noticed that some of the planes interior fixtures had some French words on them, and isn’t Bombardier a foreign company?”
Buck smiling said, “The plane is a Bombardier Learjet, but it is made down in Wichita. This particular plane was suppose to be an export model, but right after the corporation had already bought two smaller models, we found that we needed a larger jet with overseas capability. So when we asked they gave us the next one off the line. They wanted to keep us as happy customers I guess?” Looking at the clock on the galley wall he asks, “would you mind asking the others if they want any last juice or coffee, we will land in about five minuets.”
I’d be glad to, but thanks for asking sir,” as Gavin picked up the pot of coffee and a juice carafe turned back to the cabin, as he raised his voice and announced “last call on coffee or juice, we will be landing in five minuets.”
Buck had asked the pilot to circle the runway and the large hangers once before landing so all of his guest could see the layout. Buck was giving them the details, “You can see there are several large hangers and a couple of our Air delivery jets parked in front. At the south side of the larger hangers are four DC-4’s or using the former military number system C-54 Skymasters, and six of the older DC-3’s or C-47’s, in Nam we called them Goony birds. The larger C-54 was the planes that President Truman used to break the Russians will during the Berlin airlift. Two of these have the original logbooks that show they were part of that air train fleet. The other two were built soon afterwards.”
Do they still fly,” Gavin asked?
Yes, the proper terminology would be are they operational. They are all used to carry bulk cargo to the smaller airfields here in rural America.”
Not sure you can make out the two smaller planes behind them. But those are my babies, the Douglas A-4 SkyRaider, if you saw the movie ‘Flight of the Intruder’, they were referred to as Sandy. One is operational and has its FAA airworthiness certificate. The other one can fly but the FAA folks haven’t checked it out yet, maybe in the next month. Ok it looks like we are on final approach, please remain buckled up and seated until the pilot brings the craft to a complete stop up by the hangers, thank you for flying with us. Hope you choose us for your return flight.”
Buck gives them a big grin and says, “Couldn’t help myself on that one.”
The Militia members all smiled in return as Cody answers, “If we don’t fly with you it’s a long walk back to home.”

Getting out of the plane and looking at the hangers you could see a sign above the door that read, ‘T-Oil.’ “Is that the name of your air operations,” Dan asks Buck?
Yes, but we are subcontracted out now and haul for one of the major shipping firms. This is the Mid-west shop and maintenance facility for T-Oil; the corporation has a large shop back east in Indiana it’s about two times larger then this one.”
Not meaning to sound nosy, but how many aircraft does your companies have,” William asks?
It’s alright to ask questions, before the day is over I’m sure there will be plenty more,” Buck replies. “In the air freight business we have 12 jets like you see here, and two 747’s, plus six more of the DC-4s, and two more of the older DC-3’ or goony birds and that’s just the air freight side. We also have our crop dusting side with another 56 planes in a half dozen states. We also have two Bell UH-1 series Iroquois, or better known as the "Huey", that we rent out to local hospitals. Then I also have a few other toys like the A-4’s, here.”
Doesn’t look like the near depression, as our president calls it, has hurt you too bad?”
Bad enough but it looks like we are climbing out of it now.”
A security guard walks up to Buck and says, “Excuse me sir.”
Buck tells his guest, “If you will excuse me for just a second,” as he turns to the guard and answers. “Yes Tom,” as the two take a few steps away from the small crowd, and Buck takes the offered phone.
Dan takes the time to talk to Mike Withers, Bucks friend they met on the plane. “Didn’t mean to seem rude and not talk much to you on the ride down Mike.”
That’s OK Dan, I like sitting back and listening to the small talk and hearing you and Buck sound out your ideas on the Militia. Everyone at my work always wants my opinion, or a decision now. It was nice to sit back, enjoy the home style breakfast, and listen to a bit of history and some current affairs all rolled into one discourse.”
Before Dan replied Mike continued, “Not sure of what you guys in the Militia think about the well-to-do? But the ones that I count as my friends, we have a lot of the same talk among ourselves on what the future holds for our children and the eroding of personal rights and liberties in our own country.”
There are a lot of others though, the ones with old money who think differently, Buck and a few other make a small exception. But most of the old money people for some reason feel guilty and have a socialist’s attitude until it comes to giving up their money then they change their tune. They like to talk the talk to show how much they care, but if the truth were known they don’t give a damn, period. I don’t talk the talk much I let my actions of making new jobs speaks for itself, with a lot of hard work and sweat involved I’ve become successful, I’m proud of the fortune I have made.”
Another thing I’m proud of, just like Buck I served in the armed forces, I was a Seabee in the Navy, and loved every minuet of it too. No one wants to listen to my idea that every young man ought to serve at the very least a two-year hitch, right after High School. Before he starts too get involved with the rest of his life, that way he would know what it means to be a part of our common defense, and the proper role of a free man living in a free country, and all of the duties and responsibilities he has to his country. That he has to be willing to give everything of himself if necessary, to insure that freedom carries over to the next generation.”
Dan looks at Mike and smiles as he says, “I guess you do put your pants on the same way us common folks do.”
Mike chuckles through his retort, “Yep jump up in the air, one foot down each pants leg, zippered up and belt fastened before the toes touch the ground again. And then doing the job for the rest of the day, it gets even crazier. And then later with the kids running in six different directions before and after dinner, man how I hate fast food.”
Everyone laughs at this as they realized it doesn’t matter what your place or status in life; we are all doing what it takes to raise our families.
Not wanting to switch the conservation but I have known Buck for about six years now, we first meet at a military vehicle auction in South America then and found out we both had a love affaire with tanks, APC’s and other such heavy metal, and we have been good friends since. Last year I asked Buck if I could relocate my collection from California to Kansas so that I could have some place I could drive them.”
You see my home state is getting so crazy with environmental laws its getting hard just to use your own private property for my type of all terrain vehicles. And I love anything that has tracks on it, that’s caterpillar tracks for anyone that’s not a former tread head.”
Buck rejoins them and adds, “Guys this is one sick man here, I mean I thought I had it bad, he’s got twice the collection I have. Not wanting to make Mike’s head swell but since he moved his toys here, I’ll bet he has acquired the second largest private collection in the world.”
With a smirk Mike says, “Since I’m not the prince of some oil rich country in the Mid-East that has a countries armed forces at his disposal, I’ll brag a little. I am the proud owner of the largest private collection that includes equipment from World War One up to the present day. Unlike my friend Buck who only has a few pieces from pre-Vietnam to the present. But that doesn’t count the things we have acquired together now does it?”
Buck then in jest says, “Well enough phrase for Mike and his toys, let’s go take a look, it’s time for the walking tour,” as he leads them to a long building behind the hangers and through the side door.
Mike since most of these are yours, why not tell them what we have here.”
Thank you Buck,” Mike retorts, “The first monster you see is a World War I, British Vickers, one of the original ‘Tank” as Mr. Churchill named them.”
He paused for a second then said, “The next one is a French Renault, and both of these were bought by the American Army….

Half an hour later, “And this next to the last one is a Russian T-62 sold to Egypt, that came to me from the Israeli Army after they captured it in the Sinai. And this last one is of course the American M60A3. Now I know I went through them pretty fast but you can come back latter and look at them in more detail, or if you desire, drive them after the maintenance men give you a quick lesson. Yes before you ask they are all in top running order, as this is a living working art museum, these are my best pieces but not all. In the next building is the field grade stuff, a mixture of my seconds then Bucks toys and the biggest half there is stuff we bought together. Follow me please,” as he lead them out.
Dan turned to Cody and said, “I’m impressed, I like the idea of a M60 and the M42, if they are teamed with the two M113’s, toss in the Ferret and the Cadillac Gage scout and that would make a good but mixed six Pac.”
Buck heard Dan and injected, with an ear-to-ear smile “Well you better hold on to you hat then, because the next building will blow your mind.”
Uncle Buck has a way of understating things Gavin,” Jim his nephew said. “I’ve been out here eight or nine times and I still haven’t driven half the different armor you’re going to see.”
Walking the short distance to the next building Mike was telling the group, “I also have a flare for the dramatic, so we are going to leave the lights off as you step inside, you will be able to see a little with the door open and once everyone gets inside, we will start some music and then turn on the lights, OK, good. Now watch your step over the door jam and follow Jim on in, that’s good stop there. Now for the Music,” out of some speakers mounted on the wall behind them came a
Bugle sounding Reveille.
Buck said, “That’s to wake you up, to get your anticipation up and ready,” as it finished, then a recording of a fife and drum group playing Gary Owen. “Now that sets the mood,” as the lights came on full.
This building was the same size as the last one and the equipment there had been in a display setting where they had seen almost 90 pieces.
But in this building, it wasn’t for display, with very little room between vehicles it was almost full, there were a few trucks in the back and down at the other end you could see the front nose of maybe six helicopters with that many tail booms of others sticking between.
Dan had to make an effort to keep his mouth from falling open, Cody and Bill were looking amazed and chuckling, Gavin was the first to speak, “Is it all legal, I mean can you really own all this stuff and not be breaking any laws?”
Jim shrugged his shoulders in a matter of fact manner, as he answered, “Mr. Withers and Uncle Buck wouldn’t break any laws. My mom says if it’s the amount of money one spends on his toys, then these two are just a couple of boys who will never grow up.”
Dan standing with his hands on his hips not moving surveys the collection. Turning to Buck he says, “You’re not wanting to join the Militia, you’re wanting the Militia to join you, right.”
Buck and Mike just stand there with satisfied grins on their faces, as Mike hands his friend a $10 dollar bill as he says, “Almost the exact words you said he would say.”
Cody walking around the armored cars to the tanks behind hollers out to them, “Hey guys he’s got four more M41 Walker Bull Dogs and six of the M42 AA dusters here. Buck do these still have those crappie ass Lycoming gas engines in them?”
No Sgt. Major we got rid of that junk years ago, after doing some hull modification work all six of them have the Detroit Diesel 6V water cooled turbocharger, that’s the same engine that was used in the M551 Sheridan. We also installed the same type of Allison automatic transmission from the Sheridan’s, the power to weight ration went up considerably.”
Cody let out a low whistle as he said; “Bet it runs like a horse with a hornet under the saddle, what’s the top speed?”
We have road tested all of them at 50 miles per hour running them on smooth gravel for a little over two hours, and several short sprints of up to 65 MPH. The original undercarriage wasn’t built to take those speeds across country so we rebuilt that and added heaver torsion bars. You still have to watch your speed there, but on flat ground and roads they held up fine.”
As Gavin and Jim are walking a little ahead of the group, Gavin points to two vehicles and says to Jim, “Those two look like Ducks.”
Yeah they are, ever ridden in one?”
Last year over in Branson Missouri, man that was a lot of fun.”
Cody has also separated from the main group hollers out again, “Dan he’s got three more M60’s back here and a good dozen M113’s too.”
Dan turns back to Buck and Mike, “You guys planning on equipping an Armor Battalion or what?”
If time permits yes, those M60’s have all the components to be A-3’s, with out the live main gun and reactive armor of course. But for now we have at least a complete ground Cav. Squadron with mixed armor and with an attached Air Cav. wing of two platoons of slicks, and two air ambulances or Dust off units. Both Mike and I have our Class 3 permits for full auto and we own enough 1919’s and M2’s for all the vehicles present, plus,” Buck answered.
Mike looking Dan in the eye adds, “You can see that we are dedicated and have been for some time. We will obey all laws, and we won’t be any party to an agent provocateur either way.”
Dan shook his head in amazement.
Mike as an afterthought added, “I’m off to Switzerland next week for an auction anything you can think of that is needed by the unit?”
Yes I do, If you get a chance to pick up a couple hundred of the alpinflage ponchos the men who need one will pay you back, We like them as they have more rip-stop they the GI issue ones.”
OK I can look into that, I was thinking you would like for me to get binoculars or other quality items?”
Mike I don’t want to sound rude but I also don’t want you to feel like you need to become the Q for the guys. If you want to buy things or some items that are hi-end tech or even everyday common use items that’s your choice, we just want each man to contribute what he can to help the unit as a whole. But for each man we expect them to equip themselves with the basics. We do that because we know he will take care of his own stuff, and then respect items that the units buy. Now don’t misunderstand me because Gifts are nice and gladly accepted, and one area we are really short in is quality night vision.”
Glad you said that, because I forgot to mention that by the end of this month all of this armor that you see here will be equipped with the latest generation night vision and if you or your men have some ideas in that area let us know and we will take a serious look at the product. We have been thinking about buying in quantity some of the better goggle type helmet night vision? And also getting a couple a dozen of the thermal rifle sights so we could loan them out or sell to your people at the discount price from our volume purchase. We want to help but at the same time we won’t be a sugar Daddy and buy things that we consider frivolous or illegal. OK so far?”
Dan was astonished at the offer of such expensive equipment especially the thermal scopes, he knew they ran close to $12,000 each. Instead he said, “We don’t call our best shots snipers, we prefer using the American term ‘sharpshooters’ that was the name used by the soldiers during the Revolutionary War. Snipers in the military have very special training and work in two man teams, our men work as a four man section; where two, two man teams support each other.”
That’s a good term to use, it does sound less ominous, and is probable a lot more fitting then the term sniper,” Buck agreed. “Now the Unit as Mike and I see it is to be a mixed Calvary Squadron or as close too one as we can help with. Right now it would consists of one heavy ground troop or company, that’s the tanks and APC’s, a second troop of mixed armor, wheel infantry carriers and scout vehicles. And the last ground unit would consist of a scout/support troop of motorcycles ATV’s and trucks. Then one Air Cav. troop of two helo platoons and the rest of the platoons in trucks, add it all together with a head quarters troop and it would be a Squadron or a Battalion which ever term you prefer to call it? Of course this plan isn’t fixed in stone, so as we get to know each other, any and all ideas must flow freely between us if this is going to work.”
Dan shakes his head yes, smiles and adds, “I think we can come to terms, one thing thought we won’t change our by-laws no matter how we are tempted unless it is voted on by the troops. And I won’t guarantee either of you a command slot. I can recommend but that’s all, but again it’s the vote of the troops that count and adds up to who commands them.”
Mike smiles, “Don’t look at me I made petty E-5 in my four years, Buck got out of the reserves after making Captain, and he’s the one with the combat experience. Hell I’m just glad I can help in any way I can. Besides these toys need to be used, and training with your people our should I say as one of the people would be fun.”
What you said about a vote of the troops is good enough for me, you said on the way down that the Kansas Militia unit was a Brigade now with four battalions. With each battalion independent, no Brigade commander but a staff for coordination of training and standards,” Buck asked?
That’s correct,” Dan replied.
Well we will also have close to enough trucks and related equipment to equip another whole battalion size unit. It would be a truck or motorized infantry unit only. How well off are the other battalions for trucks etc.?” Buck asks, then adds “I don’t want any one to think that if we help them I’m trying to buy any loyalty or votes or anything! Mike and I want to help and the surplus Army trucks right now are cheap, at least for us to buy in quantity that is. At auction individually they can go for between three to eight thousand dollars. It’s when you buy two dozen at a time that the price is around two thousand dollars each, some aren’t the best looking but its not looks we’re after.”
Gavin calls out from across the building hidden by a row of trucks, “Dad you have to see this they have 18 more Ferrets over here and another eight of those Cadillac gage type scout’s and 12 more of the Marine wheeled type APC’s. No wait the small sign on them says SA Ratel, what are they?”
Those Ratels are a South African design all wheel drive and a light APC. They are a very well built vehicle, they can ford a meter plus depth of water but they don’t have the ability to swim, which is unfortunate,” Mike answered with out asking whom the question had been addressed to.
Dan asks, “Were those made for the 20 or the 90 millimeter soft recoil gun? And are the seats facing inward or in a central row down the middle facing out? And the Ferrets are they from South Africa too?”
Mike says to Buck, “Give the ten dollars back, he knows his armor.” To Dan, “the Ratels have the 20 MM turret, we’ve converted them to hold a M2 for now, and the seats are in the central row type. We bought them right after 9/11 and the ferrets to field-test them for security operations with the Dept. of Energy. Cadillac Gage got the contract so we just added these to our collections.”
We did do some modification in changing the Ratels engines out for the American Detroit Diesel turbo charged straight sixes, and the transmissions to the Allison’s autos. You wouldn’t believe the amount of room we saved with those modifications, and the fuel economy and horsepower gained by the increased power-to weight ratio difference is impressive too.”
I like that,” Dan said, “a local source of spare parts for the ones that wear out the fastest.”
We made other modifications as well, like adding for the drivers a third generation night-vision flat panel screen, he just switches out the center periscope, and we added a fixed firing port so some type of a machinegun or other weapon system could be added. And for the gunner and commander both will both have thermal and starlight scope sights or goggles. And in the squad compartment where the eight, four inch thick bullet proof vision blocks are we added firing ports below.”
Buck takes over and says, “The SA ferrets for now, they still have the old Rolls-Royce engines but one of my engineers says with a little modification we can replace them with a quiet turbo-diesel, he has two right now that he’s running test on. When he’s finished testing we then will know which is the better power plant, they we will change them all out and at the same time add a complete modern re-wiring packet, for comms a quality 3 system radio not the old 2 radio systems, night vision and external motion sensors plus for the commander add an electrical over hydraulic power for the turret, it will do a 360 degree turn is a little over seven seconds.”
You are keeping the old manual transmission, that pre-select gear feature impressed me years ago,” Dan inquired?
With a smile Mike said, “Yes, the vehicle may be a World War two era design but that feature in the transmission was years ahead of its time. One of the new items we are adding to both the Ferrets and Ratels, they will have an external phone just like the M60’s and the 113’s, all of the Ratels are already converted, and the ferrets when we change out the engine. As you know armor working with Infantry has to have good Comms, it just makes sense. Again not to brag but I also own a very good radio manufacturing corporation and our vehicles will soon have state of the art solid circuit EMP proof electronics.”
Talking about communication,” Dan queried, “Mike one of the things that would really help our people is to have our present two radio system consolidated in to one quality and affordable unit. At the fire team and squad level we use the small 49 MHz FM radios. From the squad level up through Platoon and to the Company level we use the FRS two and five mile range radios, we have the ability to go to 15 miles with the GMRS frequencies but that’s only in an emergency or when working with the police and fire departments. For the Company to Battalion level we use our Ham radios but very sparingly. So at the Company level and lower we have been looking at getting a small radio made to combine both the FM and FRS systems into one small packet, with an ear bud and boom mike. I mean, would that be practical and would we be able to keep the cost down?”
Mike pauses for a few seconds thinking, “That shouldn’t be a problem, but I’ll have to get with an engineer, I don’t visualize any technical problems. I can see that having to carry two or three radios would be a problem. If we were to do a limited run of say one thousand the cost might be close to one hundred dollars each, but if we were to make five thousand or more the cost is cut by a third or even by half. Do you want me to take a technical and financial cost look at the problem too?”
Yes, if you don’t mind? And another idea, a lot of the men also use the locally made EarShot hearing protection and amplification system, don’t know if you’re familiar with it, at night you can hear a man walking through heavy brush at 100 meters.”
Smiling Mike answered, “Yes, I know the guys up in Hoxie that make them, their good people. It should be easy to incorporate it all together in one package.” His smile got bigger as he added thinking out loud; “I like small challenges, when you succeed that satisfying feeling is a good reward. Now it will take at least a month to work out the details and for an engineer to design maybe half-a-dozen proto types, and they will be twice the size of the final product, then at least that long to give them a hard field-test. Then add in another month to have the final boards designed and templates made and the program designed written for the machines, then one or two weeks to mass-produce and three weeks later they would be shipped over here, we have a plant in Alabama that can mold the case and the people there to assemble all of the parts, but they haven’t any open time scheduled because of other contracts. We do have a very good South Korean plant that can handle a rush order in making the circuitry.”
Dan started to ask, “Isn’t there an American manufacture….”
Mike held both hands up if front of him as if surrendering as he said, “Yes I know American made would be great, but the only American plant we have and the two Canadian plants are right now at full production capacity, it would take a year to work in the order. I’d think wanting them in the troops hands by mid-summer would be preferred?”
Andy said, “He’s right Dan, that way the new people wouldn’t have to buy two systems for now to just be replaced later, especially with the recession going strong. A lot of the guys don’t have the extra bucks to spare.”
Dan shakes his head yes in agreement.
OK then,” Mike said, “from the time my man talks to your Comms people, this week if that’s OK, to the finished product is in your hand it will take about four or five months tops.”
Mike I like the idea,” Buck says, “Also if you were to have the radios made close to Mil spec in durability that would increase the cost by what a couple of dollars, and if we order 20,000 units, that would help keep the cost way down wouldn’t it?”
Depends on too many variables that I don’t have off the top of my head Buck, but it would be a great market product, add in a ground sensor freq. either for seismic or inferred, and maybe the ability to drop in a chip to be compatible with military freq.…” Mike stops as he realizes he is getting carried away with this ideas and the possibilities.
Dan just stands there, not sure of what to think about the surreal world he finds himself in today.
Dan wake up this isn’t a dream or a deal too good to be true. Why don’t we walk around looking at the equipment, and talk some more as we do so,” Buck joked as he said looking at his watch. “If we take an hour or so to look around then sit down to discuss our proposal.” Seeing a question on Dan’s face he adds, “that’s in reference to our wanting to join. Anyway I have a taped presentation that my PR department manager and I put together for you to view. I have several copies of the flow chart or TO&E for the unit that Mike and I can help build; it will take about fifteen minuets to go over, that way all of your people present can see where we are coming from.”
William and Andy both had been standing back listening to the talk as Cody had re-joined the group William now spoke up. “Buck, Mike we are all listening to your offer, by profession I’m the owner of two car dealerships, and I’m not used to a good deal being offered when none was expected, there is always a catch. As for Dan, well Dan he’s skeptical and with good reason as I’m sure you understand.”
Andy said, “Something tells me you two have been thinking about this for some time, if you don’t mind saying so why come to us now?”
Buck snorted a laugh, “Damn good men to have around you Dan, go ahead and tell them Mike.”
Mike nodded his head, “A little background gentlemen, I own a large international financial company as well as a world wide communications business. The last few years we have been getting a lot of disturbing rumors from several of our overseas managers especially from the Far East, and recently other disturbing rumors and news from the mid-east of an Islamic radical group and some type of Chinese partnership. If all of this information is looked at individually there isn’t any related points to help connect the dots. But when you set back and look at the big picture you see something is out there in the shadows and growing, right now we just don’t recognize what we are seeing though.”
I have passed all of this information on to our State Department but I can’t get past the damn bureaucrats. Our two Senators say, ‘thank you. We are looking into it and will let you know, maybe, if anything comes of it.’ That’s the typical Washington black hole syndrome, everything goes in, gets swirled around and then down the drain it goes. My friends up there say I’m just being too overly sensitivity that I don’t understand the politics of the world. Which is BS.”
They say ‘It's all about how Islam means peace and tolerance, that we need to understand that the every day Arabs and Muslims, they are just a loving people, family people and not terrorists. That there jihad is an inner struggle with sin and has nothing to do with violence.”
My Answer was, ‘That’s Bullshit pure and simple, they have no tolerance among themselves, let alone for the western fools who believe this pap. They have sworn an allegiance to jihad and to battle all of the enemies of Islam.’ This has nothing to do with our policies in the mid-east this conflict dates back to the time when Mohammad started his preaching as a way to help hide his continued pillaging, rape and robbing by his bad of thieves.”
We fought them once before back in the early 1800’s and we had better wake up because they are coming for us again, which is something you can bank on. 'And soon!' Now I’m sorry about my little rant but you guys in the Militia understand what’s coming, I just wish I could convince some of my other well to do friends too. But instead they wish to believe that all is fine all is well. They may be smart, but they can sure be dumb-asses at the same time too.”
And again my managers pass me other information that when added in makes sense too.”
The next sentence sent chills up the backs of the Militia members standing there as Mike continued, “I can’t prove it but I know China is preparing for war with the United States, and when it starts they will have several Mid-East Allies they can count on, and all of them are hell bent on destroying the Western world, starting with America! As of late last year their assault started out against the dollar by making it weaker in all the major foreign currency markets.”
From the oil side,” Buck added, “the Chinese are stockpile a lot more then their domestic market uses, by at least a three to one margin, just like the Japanese did before 1940-41, and they have been very busy buying other strategic minerals in quantity and stockpile them too. When they will come after us I’m not sure of, though I have my suspicions it’s getting close? And if they use the Japanese playbook from back in the 1930 we can expect some indirect attacks soon. I think these attacks will be spread across several major sectors, say in mostly economic problems or maybe diplomatic and soon after that by direct attacks using Military force.”
Dan’s face and jaw got a hard look to it for just a second then relaxed as he said, “All-right before the day is over I’ll swear both of you in as officers. In the next few weeks you will have to free up three days and take a crash course. This will be a full emersion training in tactics and planning and operations with one of our retired but active 1st Sgts. OK.”
We can do that,” Buck answers looking at Mike as he shake his head in agreement too.
What you told us we will keep quiet, but what I’m about to tell you must be kept quiet too, OK.”
Fair enough,” Buck said.
OK,” Mike echoed.
Just like what you told us, we also have passed information on to Washington and got the same results that you did. Your Intel just adds another piece to the jigsaw puzzle, something big is going to happen, and just like you guys we don’t know what, or when.”
About 18 months ago we had a large platoon size team of Militia down on the border helping Ranch Rescue. We linked up with some good people there, and a couple of the ranchers are now close friends. I say that because one of them supplied us with the pictures of a Chinese Special Forces team infiltrating our southern boarder. The rancher said a former American SF confirmed this with the names of the senior Chinese officer and one of the NCOs in the picture as he had trained with both and knew them.”
Mike lets out a low whistle, as Buck shakes his head in disbelief and says, “Dump, dumb ass politicians. That should have been front-page news and on TV, you don’t hide those types of facts. And then, in keeping the public in the dark only makes it worse. If it was up to me it would be on ‘America’s Most Wanted’ on TV, make it front-page news and the concerned people keep a wary eye open and call in the tips for the powers that be to act on. Why haven’t you gone public on that Dan?”
Believe me this wasn’t something we wanted to keep quiet about, but we were warned by some friends in the military that it might be considered as interference with a criminal investigation? And we were also reminded about our oath we took when we joined the military years ago, and the real possibility of being recalled to active duty as a needed member of a special detail.”
Not a threat per say,” Cody added with a humorless laugh.
Dan then said, “The message has gotten out a little on web pages, and on to some of the talk radio shows. But the major media is staying away from it, just like they do on the number-of-other-then-Mexicans that the border patrol is catching. And their estimated count of the ones who gets in successfully, it’s all out there but not talked up. It’s that damn attitude of; don’t talk about it and the problem will go away that our government has chosen that’s really pissing me off. And they will do nothing to solve it until after the next 9/11, so they can respond to a new crises and take more rights away.” William said with some disgust.
Mike and I agree with you guys one hundred percent,” Buck said. “Now you know why we both want to join, so we can be of help. We both have no illusions of grander that any one of us can turn the tide, but if we work together maybe, just maybe it can help make the difference. In the circles we travel in, others are starting to realize that the US of A is in for some major trouble. But most of them haven’t come fully awake yet and the few that have, haven’t a clue on where to start or what to do. Mike and I have started to formulate a plan to organize these few who are awake, and how their resources can be put to good use. But that’s just a pie-in-the-sky if, and until they decide to get on the wagon, but for now just the two of us are ready to role up our sleeves and pitch in.”
One question Mike or Buck,” Cody asked, “I know what our leadership council thinks about the Chinese prep for war, but my worst worry is what happens when they dump all of the T-notes they hold, does that send the US into a instant recession or depression?”
With a knowing smile Buck looked at Mike and said, “Go ahead buddy, you’ve said it better then I ever could.”
Nodding his head Mike answered, “It will crash our markets and the rest of the worlds markets in just a matter of days, and the dollar will become worthless overseas. Within a few weeks almost everything that we import will dry up and fuel will be hard to come by. That's the beginning of a runaway inflation cycle as more and more dollars chase less goods and higher costing food. After the first week people will start loosing jobs or they won’t be able to get to work because they can’t afford fuel, or get it for their cars. Our nations psychic will be as if we are all becoming sober after a week-long drinking binge; sick at our stomach, head throbbing and not able to think clearly. Short tempered, eyes won’t focus, not able to work together, mistrustful of anyone and everyone who gives sound advice, everyone looking for a quick fix ,and hating ourselves for what we did to our nation.”
The tempo of his voice had quickened a little as he continued, “Crime will go through the roof as the criminals see a golden opportunity to get what they can while they can. And beware of the leftist politicians who offer security and a return to better times if we will just give up a few more of our freedoms. Gun control will be one of the first things they push, as they will argue that old crap that with out guns the criminals won’t commit crimes.”
With a snort he added, “We all know that is the oldest trick of a demigod. Disarm the law abiding while the criminals run amok, so the powers that be can then increase the number of police to protect the unarmed people, or is that to insure they can keep the sheeple in line? I know you-all know where my rant is heading so I’ll shut up,” turning to look at Buck he added, “thanks buddy. You knew I’d get going like that!”
Buck broke out laughing and all of the men laughed too, letting off a little steam, as everyone of them had felt the tension growing as they visualized what Mike was predicting, that rough times were coming and most of America was asleep, and knowing that there were very few real patriots at the federal level warning the people and preparing the nation.
When the laughing stopped Dan said, “Welcome aboard; now ‘if’ we have enough time to grow and organize,” then he added? “Gentlemen we have lot of work to do.”
All of them agree with Dan, that’s a mighty big IF indeed.

If someone keeps saying they will kill you,
you are forewarned.
If they say it in public and it’s in the news,
you need to take steps to be ready,
or to prevent it from happening.
If you do nothing, except stand around and wait,
You are a fool, or stupid, or maybe both.

This talk about him being a Muslim is a lot of crap. It’s something they’re other party tossed up trying to sway the people before the election. Since he was elected over two years, it’s just old rumors now.”
Are you sure, or is he a typical socialist politician. Saying one thing to get elected but standing for just the opposite. He just might be one of the faithful? He was raised a Muslim, he did attended a Muslim school. And since he’s become the president the money they give to our Governments has increased.”
If he’s not a Muslim, and he survives the war, and won’t convert later, will we make him wear the Zunnar and pay the jizya?”
Several of the other men laugh, that would be something to see.
Zunnar, jizya,” one of the other men asked?
The Zunnar is wide cloth sash worn as a belt by the dhimms, so they won’t be mistaken for a Muslim. And the jizya is a tax that all dhimms must pay for their safety while living among the faithful.” With a smile he finished with, “like extortion by the gangs on a legit store owner.”
All of them laughed, as they imagined the new President wearing a badge of servitude.
If he was once a Muslim he’s an apostate now, and deserves the fate of one,” Marvin said with a smile as he continued to hone on his already sharp knife.
Clarence chuckled as he answered, “Ah the zeal of a new convert. So ready to deal death to those who won’t see the one true God as Allah, or to acknowledge his last prophet Mohammad.”
The other men in the room all smiled at his joke as Mikado added a jest of his own, “One must learn to temper his mocking at the expense of our new men. Otherwise they will think of us as old jaded man, ones who have accepted our surroundings without understanding what we will be called upon to do later as payment for our good life.”
Shaking his head yes in agreement Clarence looked around at the men all gathered in the double garage as they cleaned their equipment that was muddy from this last weeks training. Sixteen of the twenty-three had been able to complete the final four-day 100-mile hike with loaded packs. Three men had been in the support vehicles and did the work of camp set up and they had done an outstanding job.
But the four men who had failed to finish the hike could have, maybe they weren’t motivated like the rest of them. He would have to work on their attitude without offending them but how?
They weren’t Americans whom he could scold with good humor or appeal to their status in society as being considered worthless by the rest of America, and that there cause justified the extra effort.
The four were two Arabs and two Albanians, and he wondered if they considered themselves above hard work, or even physical conditioning for the coming conflict. And with at least another few months of getting ready and preparing he needed to figure them out now, otherwise the gap would grow and become a divisive issue that would hurt the unit.
So he asked, “Veli and Edon, I thought that Albania was a mountainous country and you would have been the leaders in endurance today?”
Edon translated the question to Veli as his English was better, then he answered for the both of them. “Yes our country has mountains, we two come from west of Kavaje, short hills, farm land. The dry heat was hard on us. We do better next time.”
Good, I forgot that the mountain air was so dry and you might not be used to it.”
Turning to the two Algerians he asked, “Bassan, Gabir? I thought the two of you would have done better, the dry heat shouldn’t have gotten to you guys?”
With a shrug Bassan answered first, “I could have, but I stay back with Gabir.”
Gabir said, “The boots, I not wear them enough. Back home I wear sandals all the time.” As he took of his left boot he winched and everyone looking could see that his sock was bloody. Slowly and with pain showing on his face he rolls the sock off. His foot is a mess with several raw patches showing were blisters had formed and then popped.
Clarence said, “Oh man you should have said something, that looks bad. Marvin go get Adrian and the medical kit.”
Everyone was standing and looking as Gabir slowly took of the other boot and sock, this foot wasn’t as bad as the first one.
Man you need to let me know about stuff like this when it happens. When was the last time you changed your socks?”
I not want to be the weak man, I took off old socks on al khamees, uhh Thursday.”
Marvin has returned with Adrian, and he has Gabir sit down so he can doctor his feet.
Clarence tells everyone, “OK everyone take off their boots and socks we are going to have a foot inspection. I don’t want anyone to suffer in silence again, bad feet, or anything else. If you have a problem no matter how small you need to tell me or someone else so we can get it fixed. We have to work as a team not individuals, no macho shit allowed. Cause one man with bad feet, a cut that might get infected or anything else that impairs his abilities, affects us all.”
With a frown he thinks, I’m lucky. I have good men, they didn’t make excuses, they suck it up, and they just told the truth. I’m going to have to become a better leader.

Those who beat their swords into plowshares...will plow for those who don't.’
Thomas Jefferson

General Chan I want your honest impression of the Russian military,” Xo asked?
Thinking for a few seconds Chan said, “In their favor, they have very good equipment in the new tanks and aircraft department. Well-trained troops especially in their Special Forces and Air Force units and very good small unit leaders from the Battalion level down. And their older stocks of ammunition are simply enormous and well sited for defense in depth. In all a good army, the rank and file are very dedicated, and in a few years it will be well run”
In our favor for now, the moral of their regular soldiers is low but improving, their support units personnel and equipment for moving up supplies poor at best, the reserve stocks of new caliber ammunition for rifles and artillery is low, a very old and neglected internal transportation system. An acute shortage of parts for their newer T-95 tanks and aircraft, plus the shortage of trained technicians to maintain the defensive electro-optical counter-measures equipment be it against IR or laser sighted weapons.”
The military leadership in the Russian General Staff was extremely poor, of the four divisions we were in joint maneuvers with, only one was well lead; and their overall Corp. commander was an idiot. He was indecisive at worst, not able to adjust quickly, to answer new threats, he committed units piecemeal and wasted his rockets and artillery firepower on useless targets. When he figured out where the main threat was coming from he committed his main forces in a head on attack, he allowed very little maneuvering by his front line units”
But then I think I’m biased though, and that comes from working with quality soldiers such as ours that maintain a very high military professionalism. We have set the standard, and our soldiers will do all that we ask and more.”
With a laugh he added, “If I had been allowed the use of our new jet fighters, tanks, and artillery plus four of our first line divisions instead of the mostly reserve and militia units that were called up, I could have but on an impressive show, a very impressive show indeed. But then again I might have scared our friends and woke up the American and British observes that the Russians allowed to tag along.”
Xo nodded his head in agreement as he asked, “In reading your report, you mentioned that the Russians had a static display of their new attack helicopter the ‘Black Shark,’ did they not fly it in?”
I guess you can say it was flown in, they unloaded it from a transport plane and then set up the display of all the weapons systems and munitions it can carry. It is just an updated model of the Ka-50 and the KA52 Werewolf platform, with some help from the Israelis; the real name is the Ka-50-2 Erdogan. I had two of my top tech officers dressed as sergeants and they talked to their Russian counterparts. In the course of two days worth of causal conservation they found out that it is still in the experimental stage of development. Besides the static model they have only six hand made units testing various fire control and electronic systems and for flight evaluation. Maybe by this time next year they will be ready to begin production but not sooner.”
With a sly smile that would make a fox proud Xo nodded his head again saying, “They do not have until next year. Long before then they will hear the thunder of our modern horses hoofs and see the dust clouds approaching as our tanks and military over run their country once again.”
Ju continued, “And the Americans have started pulling some of their infantry units out from Iraq and back to America. But the Heavy armor units are still close, down in Kuwait, they will smash the Iranian Armor and hurt our allies attack.”
Xo agreed, “Yes but when our Armor roles into the region, we will not have to worry about being attacked by the Iranians as invaders instead we will be welcomed by them as the liberators.” He didn’t need to add, by the time they figured out who was their real enemy it would be to late for them. To late for them and the rest of the non-Chinese, remembering a saying that his grandfather had told him when he was a young boy, “It’s to late to repair the roof when the typhoon hits.”

The Chinese also have begun to effectively translate their trade and investment clout into political influence. Especially in South America and Africa where this equates into votes at the UN. As bargaining chips for a rainy day, ones that will be called on when needed. They better have the umbrella handy, the awaking Mongol monsoon season was almost here and the world would be forever changed when it started.

Fijians go to the polls
SUVA, Fiji.—Fiji on Saturday began a week long
election that could fuel more turmoil in this troubled
and racially divided South Pacific democracy.
Voters were choosing between an ethnic Indian
opposition leader whose previous rise to power sparked
a coup, and an indigenous Fijian incumbent who is
struggling for power with the country’s military chief.

Jihad Chief Warns US
NEW YORK, New York.---UN building Friday, just as
the General Assembly was finishing up business for the
week, the head of the Jihad Front NGO (non-government
Organization) warned the United States to mend its ways.
He referred to the letter that the President had received
this week from the President of Iran asking for Peace.
And yet the Americans are talking about Iran’s desire
for a nuclear reactor to provide electric for its people.
And the Americans claim that its use will be used for war.
His speech lasted for at least thirty minuets with only
four countries delegates and six reporters present as his
audience. He closed with a promise of vengeance that is
coming to the world soon, ‘Allah will not show any mercy
to those who are nonbelievers or who has forgotten him.’
Then he quoted Quran 21:97-99 ‘The disbelievers will stare
in terror at what Allah has in store for them.’

Two more,

Failed Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad when found guilty shouted in defiance’s, "Allahu Akbar," getting everyone’s attention. He finished with, "Brace yourself because the war with the Muslims has only just begun," he told the judge before he was sentenced during the 30-minute hearing. "The defeat of the US is imminent and will happen in the near future."
When Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum asked Shahzad, who is a naturalized American citizen, and was sporting a beard and white prayer cap, that he was an American citizen and that he had sworn an oath, he replied, "I did swear, but I didn't mean it." (from Jihad Watch)

Seattle cartoonist Molly Norris has given up her job, her home, and even her identity because of death threats for Islamic supremacists. That Islamic jihadists can force an American citizen into hiding for exercising her freedom of speech is bad enough; that her cause has aroused only indifference from the media and the nation's leading officials is even worse. All because she announced "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day" on Facebook.

We must defend all of our freedoms, or lose them! One of our enemies has made that clear.

(At the end of this section of the book is an article from, The New Media Journel.us by Alan Caruba that explains the mind-set of the Islamic terrorists, ‘their religion fosters a certitude and arrogance the Western mind cannot comprehend.’) They make the Imperial Japanese military prior to August 1945 look like a glee club for school sports and spirit support. In comparison to their complete brainwashed living the total lie devotion that their religion demands of them. The made up Cartoon Rage being a good example, and countless suicide bombings of their own people who aren’t devote enough.
Wake Up America and the Western World, all that they tell us is true. Convert or die!

A nation under a well-regulated government, should permit none to remain uninstructed. It is monarchical and aristocratical government only that requires ignorance for its support.
Thomas Paine, Rights of Man, 1792

IT IS always a temptation to an armed and agile nation,
To call upon a neighbor and to say:—
We invaded you last night—we are quite prepared to fight,
Unless you pay us cash to go away.”

And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
And the people who ask it explain
That you’ve only to pay ’em the Dane-geld
And then you’ll get rid of the Dane!

It is always a temptation to a rich and lazy nation,
To puff and look important and to say:—
Though we know we should defeat you, we have not the time to meet you.
We will therefore pay you cash to go away.”

And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we’ve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.

It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
For fear they should succumb and go astray,
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
You will find it better policy to says:—

We never pay any one Dane-geld,
No matter how trifling the cost,
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that plays it is lost!”

Several fire inspectors are conducting a routine inspection in a Brooklyn supermarket when they came across a back room and find that the walls were covered in posters of Osama bin Laden and several graphic display of a dozen beheadings in Iraq. Continuing the search and finding over 200 automobile airbags, some parts of the airbags can be used to make bombs. The owner of the building was arrested; and the local newspaper reports say he was jailed in the late 70s and early 80s for arson, muggings, multiple weapons possession and conspiracy, other minor charges were dropped.’ Federal agents state officially: (again) This has nothing to do with terrorism.
Come on if this isn’t related to terrorism, what in hell is it then? Really now who has been making bombs lately and selling them? And how about the posters of Osama and friends doing the Iraqi beheadings and then mailing posters to be sold as a fund raising scheme? And then some jerk making bombs has them hanging on his walls? If you want to call me old fashion OK, but is this the new vogue Art? Too many questions that need answers, now! If we don’t ask then you might as well bury your head in the sand, and soon you will have your surprise.

A couple of years ago several explosions killed fifteen people and injured over 100 at an oil refinery in Texas City, Texas in March of 2005, the fires weren’t even out before the FBI quickly ruled out the possibility of terrorism as a cause. Even when a group calling itself the Qaeda al-Jihad called a local radio station as the explosions happened and later another Islamic group called in and both claimed responsibility. The FBI sticks to its original story, the same with the Flight 800 missile attack in New York City, and the Oklahoma City bombing. Nope no terrorist’s connection doesn’t matter what a couple of hundred witnesses see or their own agents knew and reported.
Now we have found out that the FBI investigators didn’t go to Texas City until several days after the blasts, and yet from day one their story stands, nope nothing to do with terrorists. Why? Several more independent-minded investigator have asked, ‘How do you rule out any chance, any possibility if you haven’t visited the accident location and no idea what might be the cause?’
Later during the investigation and after talking to several of the survivors and eyewitness out comes the chilling truth. The initial reports of a single large blast were inaccurate: there were as many as five different explosions at the refinery. Hmm wonder if some one jumped to conclusions or there is thinking that maybe we the people shouldn’t know the truth. Again WHY?
Also late spring of 2005, explosions and fire at a Gas bottling plant in St. Louis, news helicopters flying overhead take video footage of hundreds of acetylene bottle’s with their valves blown off burning like candles, thank the Lord that none of the oxygen bottles blew up; other wise this would have been a disaster.
Mid summer 2005 in Detroit an explosion and fire at a Chemical plant, another disaster barely missed, or very fortunate not to have happened during the day.
A lot of close calls, most of them are just industrial accidents that happen, we hope?
You know George Washington was right when he said: ‘How soon we forget history…. Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.’
To all of our civil servants, The American people are proud, brave and a lot tougher then you want to realize, all we ask for, is the Truth. The honest truth not some pap that you think resembles the truth. Remember you do work for us, for with out our tax dollars there would be no job for you. Where you would be out with us?
Easily answered, working in the civilian world doing the hard job just like the rest of us, and having to worry about keeping the customers happy, and the boss off your back so you can keep your job. So treat us with respect and tell us what is really happening at the border, and with in the country when a terrorists attack does happen, or when you foil one and arrest the evil bastards. We’re on your side; we want the good guys to win. Because we are the Good Guys too.

"Mom! Dad! It's evil! Don't touch it!"
-Kevin, from the movie Time Bandits

Yes you paid for my flight lessons and school, and I have paid you back that money, that debt, did I not,” Al-Abdul stated, a hint of anger in his voice.
That is not why you were chosen or given the chance to learn these skills Al Sayhaya Al-Abdul,”
Howard sneered as he used the mans family name. Trying to force guilt onto him, “Why do you think we invested the money or time for you to learn to fly?”
I admit that you invested resources on my behalf that you could have used in other ways, but that was your choice. At the time we first talked I told you your ways were not my ways.”
You think that your path isn’t already written. Well it is and we own you, now you must pay us. And that debt can’t be paid with money Al Sayhay Al-Abdul Hashim Taimani Kur Galli!”
Thank you for using my full name. You have no clue what Hashim means do you? Well let me tell you what Hashim means, it comes from the Prophet’s great-grandfather he was known as the broker or destroyer of evil. What you plan I have no idea, but I’m sure it is evil, and that is not my way, not the way I was raised to believe. It is against the faith and spirit of our religion to murder, not the perverted twisted lie you have lived and wish others to live.” Al-Abdul didn’t care if he was making an enemy, the man was wrong, what he wanted was wrong, and his belief or more like a perversion of the truth, and his belief of their religion was wrong.”
I have ways to force you, you know, if necessary I can have you branded as takfir,” Howard said with a sneer?
Oh yes that would be easy, find some fool of an Imam, pay him a thousand dollars to label me a Muslim, as a non-Muslim an infidel, so that I can be killed by a faithful Muslim like you!” With a laugh Al-Abdul said, “I think you are sadly mistaken there, you pommie slacker. Don’t attempt to threaten my family, they have recently moved to another city and no one from the old country knows where. And our mutual friend who set up this meeting, he is no longer on your side, you only know him from a cell phone number that belonged to another man. I will advise him to get another phone. As for me standing here right now, go ahead threaten all you want, I am not afraid of you. And when I walk away, that will be the last you see of me, ever.”
With a name like yours we have ways of tracking you down, America is a big country but you can’t disappear, not just like that. It would be so easy to smash your Sunni face in,” Howard took a step forward using his six-foot-four; 250-pound muscular frame to menace the shorter slightly built Al-Abdul.
In one easy and well-practiced motion Al-Abdul pulled out his colt .45 pistol from its hidden holster under his jacket, cocking back the hammer with his thumb and pointed it at Howard’s stomach. “Stand fast my Shi’ite friend, Allah made mankind, but Sam Colt made us equal, now you listen to me. If I turn you over to the FBI, I can make sure you never threaten me again. They will arrest you and soon they will find out what you are up to. As for me I would be rewarded handsomely I’m sure.”
Howard was startled, as he hadn’t expected this and took a step back, fear showed on his face.
Stand fast I said, my evil friend, one more step back and I will blow a hole in your middle followed with one to your head. You do not understand the American legal system as I do, the money in your pocket that I gave you, I wrote down all of the serial numbers. And I gave those numbers to my attorney two days ago in a sealed letter, stating that you were trying to extort money from me, and that my family would be hurt if I didn’t do something nefarious for you, like run drugs or worse.”
In America one has the right to protect oneself and his loved ones, a jury is going to believe my story. Not the story of a former heroin addict that was shot dead in the commission of a crime. Especially after the FBI has looked into the trail that you have left behind you in setting up what ever evil you have been up to, or planning.”
Howard struggling to regain his composure says, “One believer does not kill another, not like this.”
And just a few seconds ago you were going to have me named a takfir. Don’t insult me by trying to twist our religion, we both know that Murder is wrong, but self-defense is permitted. By saying that you can force me to work for you, that is a threat. I say killing you if necessary is self-defense, and let Allah be my judge.”
Al-Abdul we must be united in fighting the kafir, the unbelievers we must drive them from the holy lands.”
The Koran allows others to exist, we both know that.”
Yes it does, but as inferiors to the true believers.”
Maybe we need to learn to live with others as equals, like the rest of the world is trying to do.”
I was born and raised in London, I know how the typical British male regards all others, they only call people like you wogs, and they want to rule over you. to control you,” the pleading in Howards voice was evident.
No Howard the culture that you became part of uses terms like wogs, dinks, chiputies. Here in America the culture I have become part of does not judge men by where they are from, but by whom they are. The few British people I know are people who believe in helping the Americans to free Iraq and Afghanistan. Free them from that centuries old rule of a few who want to keep the average man ignorant and poor, like my grandfathers family used to be. All the while living in palaces and doing what is forbidden to others.”
Its what they say behind your…”
Your lack of intelligence insult me Howard, you have swallowed the lies that the fanatics preach. I saw how the Taliban ruled, I lived there I know first hand, everything that was forbidden to us Music, Movies, even singing and dancing at weddings, our so called leaders they did those things and more. They weren’t leaders they were elitists, control freaks, or hypocrites, you can pick which term you want to describe them, but they were not leaders.”
And the British whom you refer to as oppressors, are having their young men as well as young Americans killed by thieves and liars, or worse by hypocrites, to stop the average Muslim from having a taste of freedom. Freedom, something that you grew up with, took for granted and now wish to deny to others. It is people like you who wish hatred on others, to rule over them using ignorance, fear and violence.”
The blond Englishman just stood there silently, afraid to say anything and give Al-Abdul a reason to pull the trigger.
One last thing Howard, I will tell you before I will let you run away, with out killing or harming you this time. If you come near me again or threaten my family, I will hunt you down and kill you, like the diseased dog that you are. You quote our religion but you don’t understand it, in Islam it is an absolute, that two wrongs do not make a right. It is your believe in the lie by those who control you, that your countrymen the British or the American soldier is busy killing innocents in Iraq or Afghanistan. I cannot stop your belief. But I know they are not killing but rebuilding and freeing my oppressed people; that is a fact and the truth.”
You forget the truth, and the belief you hold is not justified by our religion, to commit murder. It does not give you the right to kill innocent people in New York, London or anywhere else you want. Those people who are better schooled in our religion know that, and they are the ones using you as a pawn. Just remember in chess, pawns are the first to be sacrificed, as they have little value. I chose not to be a pawn for anyone; I have learned to be a free man, something you have given away to others. You should be ashamed that you have traded your freedom to be a pawn. I have no pity for such people, now run away before I shoot you. RUN!”
Howard glared at Al-Abdul, then turned and ran dodging to his left and right, afraid that he would be shot in the back.
Watching the man running away like a scared dog Al-Abdul shook his head in disgust, how could a free man give up that freedom, for a promise of lies and deceit? Maybe it was because he didn’t know that his freedom had been bought by better men, and was being paid for by others today at a very high price. If Howard had lived for even one year with my family under the Taliban, he would understand the things I do now. “Allah have pity on those who will not open their eyes, do not let them deceive the good people of the west, with out them and their sacrifice my people would be lost. Thank you the most merciful, for the young men of the west, who lay down their lives so that others can be free.”

Instilling in them the courage to face bullies, to stand for what’s right.
If you don’t they just might loose that freedom to the children of a people,
Who were taught that might make’s right,
That being a bully is OK, as wimps will never stand, only appease.
JN’s Dad

When he woke up early just as the sun was coloring the edge of the eastern sky a faint orange and pink, he had a strange feeling about what the day might deliver. Getting out of bed quietly so as not to wake the wife he headed to the kitchen to start the pot of tea. Then heads back to the bathroom and changes quickly into his old jeans and a work shirt, then back down the hall quietly for that first cup, as he puts on some socks and his old ‘work in the garden shoes’.
That feeling of something amiss was stronger and he decided that an hour in the garden would help ease the tension from a stressful last two days of work. Stepping out side and looking east the sky is afire with red being splashed off of the few low clouds. The old sailor saying of ‘Red sky at night, sailors delight, red sky at morning sailor take warning’ comes as a forethought in his mind and he says out loud, “Thank you Lord this is a beautiful show to behold.”
Walking back to the tool shed past the two dogs, both look up from where they are laying under a tree with a, what are you doing up so early expression, then both lower their heads to catch a few more moments of sleep. Dan chuckles as he thinks, ‘If you two didn’t spend all night out chasing after foxes and coyotes, you could enjoy the early morning.’
Getting a hoe he heads to the fist row, which is the fall turnips he planted last week with just a few of them poking green stems up through the soil and sets to work cleaning out the few weeds.

Standing up right to let the kinks out of his back Dan looks back at the five rows he has cleared of the few weeds that had sprung up since Wednesday evening, not to bad for an amateur gardener. Any one who thinks man is destroying the environment has never raised a garden. We will never win against the weeds or volunteer grass that continually springs up when and where it wants too. Wiping the sweat from his brow with the back of his hand he hopes the good weather last for another two months or so, it would be nice to have our own tomatoes last into November.
Suddenly the back of the house and the garden is bathed in golden sunlight as the sun rises above the top of the hill behind the house. Ahh nothing like being outside as the sun is rising in the early morning, especially on a beautiful Saturday morning like this.
Dan says quietly, “Again I give my thanks oh Lord, to see my home like this, in the early light of a beautiful morning, I am truly blessed.” Dan then resumes hoeing and in another twenty minuets finishes the first task and takes the hoe back to the shed and gets two half peck baskets for the tomatoes, radishes and green beans he plans on picking, back in the garden he starts on the row of beans first.
Halfway down the row he hears Evelyn’s voice calling him, looking up toward the house he answers in a loud voice, “Yes.”
Standing with the door open and holding out the phone toward him she shouts, “It’s Buck Williamson, he says it’s urgent.”
Dan takes his cell phone out of its carrying case turns it on and shouted back, “Have him call me on my cell, OK?”
Evelyn talks into the phone and he can see her shacking her head yes, then she gives him the thumbs up and goes back inside.
A few seconds go by then his cell phone rings and he answers, “Hello.”
Buck starts off with, “Sorry to call you so late Dan but this is important.”
Dan knows that Buck must be over seas and says, “The sun has been up for twenty minuets, it’s early here buddy, but that’s ok I’m working in the garden picking beans. What’s going on?”
Good for you, it’s nine at night here in Tokyo and the US is in a world of hurt, someone big is dumping dollars and most of the other western currencies too. And to make matters worse billions in counter fake dollars, yen and pounds and other currencies have suddenly appeared worldwide. Mike called me from Buenos Aries and the Argentine government is in near panic, they have barely recovered from the last monetary crises. He also told me, he has it from a source he trusts, that this financial nightmare is being orchestrated from Beijing. He said a lot of oriental gentlemen were up country last week, supposedly on business.”
How do you link the Chinese in here, I thought the biggest counterfeiting people out there were the North Koreans?” Dan gets that sinking feeling in his stomach, something’s not right.
They were, but these are the new bills Dan, in every size from five’s up to 100’s, not just the old T-notes in 100’s only. China put in buy orders for a lot of oil last month at any price, this caused a temporary shortage and crude oil prices jumped up then, it hasn’t gone back to the previous level, and now by undermining the dollar, it is going to make a major monetary crises and this next week we will see the price per barrel will go through the roof.”
Ok, Buck I’ll take your word for it, I’ll call the other battalion CO’s and tell them. We will alert all of our people to keep their wheels fueled up. Our SOP calls for everyone to have at least 20 to 30 gallons of extra fuel stored back.”
Dan is interrupted as his phone rings, looking at the display he see’s that it is Cody and he asks Buck to hold for a second, as he hits the button to switch lines.
Cody, I’m talking long distance to Buck can you hold for a minuet?”
I’d rather not Dan, this is hot, the US is being assaulted by someone using Germ Warfare.”
That sinking feeling in his stomach a few seconds ago has now turned into a hard knot as he responded with, “Dear God no, hold for just a second Cody I’m going to put you and Buck on a conference call and have a three way conservation going.”
Dan pushes a couple more buttons and then say’s, “Buck you there.”
Yes.”
I’ve put Cody on line too, he say’s the country is being attacked by someone using germ warfare.”
What?” Then Buck quickly adds, “No that makes sense, just like the Anthrax attack on 9/11.”
Cody are you there,” Dan asks?
I’m here Dan, can you hear me Buck?”
Yes I can Cody.”
Dan fills in Cody with what Buck had told him then said, “Cody now tell Buck what you just told me.”
OK, Buck I told Dan that we are under attack by someone using Germ warfare. I didn’t have time to tell you this part, my Brother-in-law called me a few minuets ago just before I called Dan. He said the US is being assaulted by someone using biological weapons. This started yesterday on Cruise ships and then again last night in over a dozen major league ballparks and pro-football stadiums and at least four large Restaurant chains were hit at the same time by a strange stomach flu that’s been going around. It’s not life threatening except for the very old and very young.”
And your brother-in-law is,” Buck asked?
Oh yeah forget to mention that, my Brother-in-law works for the CDC as a field agent and he has been down in Miami the last two days. Seven ships based out of that region and all of them reported yesterday afternoon that they had hundreds of passengers sick from the noon meal, with seven ships at one time that’s no coincidence or accident. And with so many people sick every one of the ships headed to the nearest large port because the small medical staff on board each of them were swamped. Some people are so dehydrated that they needed saline drips or they would have died.”
My brother-in-law went aboard the one ship that came in late yesterday afternoon and started his investigation. The major zones of contamination were located at each of the four smorgasbord in the main dining rooms at the clean plate and silverware racks. There was some carryover to the hot table’s where the meat and the vegetables are, he said that was likely a secondary contamination zone.”
He told me that another field agent up at St. Pete said his preliminary findings were very close to the same as his. He was headed to a hotel for the night when he got a call to head to a local chain restaurant and to check it out. People leaving it were getting sick in the parking lot. It wasn’t the food as there was too many different selections by individuals, and it wasn’t happening in just one waiters serving area. He pinpointed it again to the silverware, most of it had been cleaned that morning and wrapped up in individual napkins for each customers use, so they were contaminated after cleaning. The police were given the address of the busboys from each of the restaurants and to go question them. This is where the connection starts as each of the busboys had the same address, when the police got there all of them had packed up and left right after they came home from work, no one know where they left to.”
This sounds bad, what ever this bug is, it’s a fast working one, since people were getting sick as they left,” Dan said.
Yes, from the time you start eating until you head home is an hour to an hour and half at the most. Now add this to the financial markets already in turmoil, as oil prices going sky-high, and today the currencies exchange problems. Something is going on guys and it spells a stampede into a recession, or worse,” Buck added. “You said something about Baseball too Cody?”
Yes, after my brother in-law finished at the restaurant the CDC put him on a small military jet, very similarly to yours Buck and flew him up to Atlanta. He joined a team of other agents checking out the stadium cause they had a nasty out break there during the game. Again it wasn’t the food, or at any one venders area and it wasn’t in just one part of the stadium. He said it had to be spread by an aerosol type sprayer and that some one had sprayed it all over the customer side of the counters and all over the pumps for the mustard, ketchup and relish dispensers.”
He said we are lucky at the ball parks, as they will catch who ever did that. Those areas are under video surveillance from late afternoon until after they close down around midnight.”
If you’re going to attack weaken your enemy first. I suspect the Chinese are behind the Money games Cody. Did your brother-in-law say who might be doing the stomach bug?”
He said off the record, he personally thinks there is a mid-east connection, as this same virus was discovered by accident in storage at a Miami university, where it shouldn’t have been. The graduate assistant who was caught with it gave up the professor who handed it to him. That Prof is on the watch list cause at one time he had direct connections to Hamas, if that’s true it’s not good for us at all my friends.”
Especially when you figure in what that Jihad spokesman said yesterday, you know that traitor from California. He warned us Americans again that we had failed to heed their demands to convert, or a terrible crises was heading our way.”
Sort of reminds me of the history from the late 1930’s, same as today where we are just pulling out of a nasty recession, back then it was the depression, with the same type of dictators and fanatics like now, where they want a war to take what they want from the perceived weaker democratically elected countries.” Dan offered as a thought.
The three men said nothing for a few seconds, as each was thinking, what can the Militia do and we as individuals do to help?
Buck spoke first, “I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist guys, but with the way the President has been dissing the US since he was elected almost two years ago, we knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Some one or several some ones are testing the US, and this won’t turnout good for America. Our computer systems were attacked last year, I think that was a test. This next time it’s going to get a lot worse. Were under attack and our own government refuses to see what’s coming.”
Changing the subject back to the original conservation Buck asked, “Cody have we gotten any answers back from the first sergeants about setting up a fuel depot for each company?”
No, after you talked about it at the last staff meeting that idea was then proposed to each battalion just a week ago, why.”
As I told Dan crude oil is high dollar now, but it’s going to go sky-high, and at the pump it will go even higher, maybe up to four or five dollars a gallon and that will just be the start, and with out any shortages at the same time. Higher fuel cost, spells higher prices for everything else food, cloths etc., and then more shortages. So our people will need to be able to get their fuel from a company level depot just to get by and in case of a call out. Can you push the other Battalions CSM’s just a little and get an answer later today?”
I can try.”
Good, and if you don’t mind make a list of the addresses so we can establish a depot for each company, and forward it to Jake at my main office, he will have the four fuel tanks and stands ready later today, each with a metered pump. I think we need to have them delivered tomorrow to each of the twenty points, that’s going to be ten straight bed trucks loads, with several fuel delivery trucks following close behind filling them up. That way no one will have to drive more then sixty miles one way to fill up there vehicles tank and any spare cans they bring along.”
Dan cut in and said, “Buck I see your point about someone testing the American reaction to all of this. But his is going to cost you quiet a bit of money.”
As I said at the staff meeting Dan, it’s not about money. It’s about us being able to meet a crises head on; our people can’t help if they are out of work and stranded like everyone else. I don’t know what all this crap that is happening worldwide is building up to? I know we each have an idea, but we had better be ready, All of us. Just to let you know Dan, I have another two days here then I’ll be in India for three more day’s. After that I’m heading down to Cape Town where I’ll meet the wife and her parents for a much deserved break.”
Thanks, I’ll call the other CO’s and inform them of your concerns Buck and pass on the info from you and Cody. And when you get to Cape Town check your e-mails twice a day. I have your cell number and will call if it’s an emergency. Cody hang on I want to talk to you, I can help make some of the calls.”
I always check for e-mails ever two hours. Thanks Dan, Cody I’ll talk to you guys later,” Buck said hanging up.
Cody, I’ll call the other Battalion Commanders and you can line up the other Command Sergeant Majors, when you have them on hold call me and we will do another conference call, OK?”
Can do Dan, I don’t want to make any reference to my brother-in-law though, if that got back to the CDC he could lose his job.”
Fair enough, call me back in five, by for now.”
Before making the first call, Dan asks the Lord for strength to help the American people through this coming storm. And hope’s that the reference he made to the time line and incidents of the late 1930’s isn’t history repeating itself. Again. The world may be missed up and all but doesn’t need that can of worms opened and revisited.
