Oriana Fallaci (After 9/11)
How can a 70+ year-old women who fought against the Fascist in WWII Italy understand the peril we face? Especially when most politicians including many American ones just can’t quiet get it? Maybe its because she lived the history; and the elected elitist again refuse to learn from history? That when fanatical followers of a religion whose holy book teaches that subjugation or death is the only fate owed to infidels the world over. When the so-called moderates of that religion refuse to curb the excesses of the most fanatic within their own ranks,
to speak out against those that preach hate to all others.
We are forewarned, and we need to prepare ourselves for the ongoing conflict, it’s just like the 1930’s all over again. Another World War is coming but this time the battle will last years if not generations. And just like previous war’s it is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
Don’t believe me, what about the pre-planned rage whipped up by the fanatics over some cartoons. Ones that were in poor taste yes, but that didn’t justify the killings, the looting, the burning and the threats against the west in general, of our ‘being totally oblivious to the consequences for the world, for world peace and harmony.’ There words not mine.
They may not like what we print or the movies we make, and we don’t have to like theirs in return, that’s life. But we must refuse to cow down and change to suit their desires, because once done, it will be asked again and again. We must stand our ground for all of our freedoms are at stake; people need to understand that these liberties we enjoy are a gift from God. These gifts include the freedom of speech, of the press and to worship in our own way, to name a few. (Read the Bill of Rights for the rest.) We must not allow a single one to be violated or diminished just because some one might take offense, if some one feels offended that’s tough.
Every day we are offended by many things, but living in a free society you have to grow a thick skin, hurt feelings doesn’t give anyone a license to burn and kill. It’s past time we made our stand against what is wrong, to make it right at any cost. It’s up to us the common men who now must once again display uncommon valor, just like our parents did against Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo.
As I said we better be preparing for a long war, one that must have the same outcome of WWII, WE WIN, THEY LOSE. In fact they must lose so bad that they won’t attempt War again, ever.
If our so-called leaders (political and in the press) haven’t the guts or the backbone, if they value their sorry lives more than the freedoms for which our forefathers fought and died for, then they have a choice. A simple decision, to lead or to resign and stand out of the way; to let better men show the way to achieve a lasting peace. Because appeasement only shows that you haven’t the stomach to fight; once you start down that road of appeasement you won’t have the courage to stop, because Courage is what you lacked in the first place.
My father and both my Grandfathers taught me better, not to give in to fear,

‘The violent Muslims of the world are the true caricature of their prophet Mohammad. They are relentless, intolerant, violent, and full of hate. They claim to honor Mohammad. There can be no doubt, therefore, that the Danish Cartoons completely misrepresent the prophet of Islam, for the cartoons portray no one actually committing an act of violence. And less than half of them portray something that might be considered an image of Mohammad.
The behavior of the Muslims murders and rioters, on the other hand, have well-represented Islam to the world. They have made certain that the name of Mohammad, the religion of Islam,
and the book of the Qur’an are all dreaded and despised,
And their infectious intolerance is encroaching daily on the freedoms of the Western world. Their constant acts of murder and violence have secured their place in the media, so that very little if any effort is made to present Islam in a different light, if there is a different light.

One side has the will but not the weapons to destroy their opponent.
The other side has the weapons necessary to destroy the enemy,
but not the will.
but not the will.
So now the question becomes one of survival.
Do the people with the weapons have the desire to survive?
Rough Men
There's a character trait that's decided by fate
Comes (sadly) too many, far too faint, far too late.
They won't face the aggressor, stand up to his ire
They have not the will to fight his fire with fire.
So they bend over backwards to see all sides as fair,
Till they're faced with dragon breath fire in their hair.
Like our brethren in France, who'd know better than we,
Yet seem never to learn, seem doomed never to see.

Yes, it seems there are some who're determined by fate,
To possess not the courage to step up to the plate,
Who shrink from all threat because nothing's worth war.
But how can they know lest they've been there before?
Thank God some have courage, the will, yes, the grace,
To stand for the shirkers, stand strong in their place.
Thank God we have stalwarts who'll stand for us all,
Who will rise to the challenge at their nation's call.

The faint-hearted, who fear, whose reaction is flight,
Have no comprehension of those who will fight.
To hide their own trepidation they attempt to demean
The rough men, who defend them, as barbaric, obscene.
Yet these rough men stand ready, hard weapons to hand,
To put placaters behind them, draw a line in the sand,
To preserve for the peaceniks what they won't defend,
So their own unearned freedom won't perish, won't end.

To all you peace lovers out there, you need to know that we the people on the right love peace too. The difference between you and me; we on the right know that there are people in the world who hate us because we are free. We on the right are willing to fight to keep our freedom and make peace; we are not naive and do not expect peace with out the means to keep it, we are willing to defend our freedom and yours, if it becomes necessary.
Judge Alex Kozinski of the Ninth Circuit stated that "tyranny thrives best where government need not fear the wrath of an armed people." Calling the Second Amendment a "doomsday provision," Kozinski warned that ‘assuming you can never lose your freedom, is a mistake a free people get to make only once.’
‘If liberty is lost in America, it will be lost for all times and all places.’

'No sane man wants a war'
Some one has to make that stand on Lexington Green,
I'm not foolhardy or stupid, I've been there, seen it, again why me?
I know the odds of dying in that first volley are 7 to 1,
But someone has to draw that line, it's not for fun.
Today brave men and women on my right and left,
Dear Lord help me keep my fear in check.
If the time is now, and I'm meant to die,
Shout from the rooftops, I gave freedom a ride.
Life, Liberty, and Freedom for all,
Will be on my mind if I should fall.
If I survive and continue the fight,
The enemy will soon see that we are right.
Even though the words sound old, but true,
Tom Jefferson got it right.

With the blood of Patriots and Tyrants,"

“As you know America was attacked with out warning last night, just a few minuets past midnight Pacific Standard Time. This invasion by several million men of the Khan’s armed forces and a smaller number of men with the Jihad Army from the Middle East. They were assisted by some local allies......”
The President then turns to the few members of his cabinet present and says, “No I won’t use that term as they are not local allies, they are traitors pure and simple.”
With that distance look in his eyes he whispers, “Why are they doing this,” he asks rhetorically. Looking back at the camera he continued, “This is an unprovoked, an undeclared wanton attack against all Americans and the decent people of the world”
“Information and news from California right now are sketchy at best, but a few local law enforcement and some National Guard unit commanders report Hispanic gangs armed with AK’s and other weapons are attacking their personnel. A few of these gang members were captured and they say they are members of the now active Aztlan Army…..”
The above was taken from the presidents meeting with news reporters at 0545 EST.

- Run, run, run away. Get some training, live to fight another day.
“STOP,” she screamed her voice full of fear; “you guy’s cannot go back that way, the Chinese are at the bridge, two blocks away and waiting.”
One of the sergeants looked at her, and in the calmest manner said, “Don’t worry about us, it’s going to be okay, it’s our job. We have been watching them for half and hour and our people are almost in position. In five or so minuets we will re-take the bridge, so you need to move on,” he said, asking them nicely to leave.
But Audi and her three friends just stood there, not able to understand what was happening, had happened to their world.
Her current boyfriend Tom, with a sneer said, “You stupid soldiers, you should have stopped them from even landing.” Then in a whispered wining voice he continued, “Damn you, I’m scared!”
One of the camouflaged soldiers had heard his whisper and with out any emotions showing replied, “How would we have known? As for being scared, control it kid., stay afraid, but keep thinking, keep moving you’ll be OK.”
That didn’t register either and the four still stood there, waiting.
The sergeant didn’t have time for this so he said a little more forcefully, “Listen you people, you need to get out of here, take a right at the next street and try not to freeze at the sight on that first block. The Chinese or their Muslim friends sure made a mess out of a cop car and some people trying to flee, they’ll do the same to you, so get!"
One of his soldiers, a middle aged man more like her fathers age, puts a hand on Audi’s shoulder and half turned her in the direction they needed to go as he said, “Please miss. It’s going to get messy and we don’t want you or your friends to get hurt, now go, please, keep heading east. We have to secure this bridge and hold it as long as possible. That will give two of our guard unit’s time to get their equipment out of this area. Also by our taking that bridge it will allow more civilians time to flee, so go on now and let others along the way know they have to get out of California.”
The ‘Get out of California’, that didn’t register at first with Audi and her friends, they were all too scared, too numb because of sensory overload; but we did as we were told turning away and walked East. I wish I could recall his name or even his face, his kind words and the brave actions of his fellow soldiers that saved how many others and me? I don’t know if their bravery was recorder or written down in an after action report? But their sacrifice will never be forgotten, even if their story is never told, because I know.
As we walked down the block, the early morning light was getting better, dawn would be here in the next few minuets, it was morning twilight and we could now see in color.
But we weren’t ready for the shock as we turned the corner; we were met with the most awful, unbelievable scene I thought I would ever witness in my life. It was like looking directly into hell, I was seeing the most horrific thing I think I could ever imagine, at least up till then.
Hollywood makes films with graphic pictures of death and destruction, but what we saw was worse, far worse then anything they could attempt to show. Besides the sight was the smell and sounds..
The air, it had a strong acid order and flies were all over the place buzzing. Looking south down that long block to the next street, there were at least a dozen shot up cars and several of these had been blown apart, among this wreckage were several dead bodies and scattered about were the human debris from people that had been in the cars.
The first car, or what was left of a car, you could tell it was a police cruiser; it was so riddled with holes it looked like a cheese grate. The bodies of the two policemen or what was left of them had been pulled from the car and hung with wire from a large tree. With their arms spread open in a mock crucifixion, I didn’t want to look too close but you could see that they had been mutilated, horrible.
Walking carefully past that first grotesque scene, we could see into the some of the other shot up cars, some with dead children still in their infant safety seats. Some cars looked like they had tried to turn around and others with the doors wide open as the occupants had tried to flee. Several of the yards had bodies lying in them.
Slowly taking a few more steps forward, we realized that picking a path, without wading through a layer of sticky blood that covered almost the entire road in places, wasn’t going to be easy. All around you could see a large amount of human body parts, hands, arms, legs and heads, and more blood everywhere like it was blown from some bizarre storm.
I didn’t want to look, but I could see limbs and chunks of skin, globs of muscle tissue and shattered bone at almost every step on the ground and hanging off the shrubs and some of the lower branches of the surrounding trees. Some of the body parts looked like they were smashed into the ground as if they had been run over by some huge monster.
Half way down this lane of death and ruin, we had to step over and around three or four bodies as we tried to make our way with out really looking, all the while trying to maintain what little was left of our courage.
Using every bit of our will power to go on, to keep thinking to myself, I must hold down the panic that was growing. If I let fear get a hold of me that’s it, we will be goners just like these poor people.
Tom, kept saying over and over, “Oh no, oh no, this is shit, this is shit, where are the police, the firemen the ambulances where are they? We pay them good money, they should be here cleaning this up,” by the tone in his voice I know he’s losing control.
I was thinking but afraid to say it out loud, ‘Shut up, that’s not helping any of us,’ knowing that my voice would betray my fear too.
But if this is going on all over the place; maybe Tom suspects that and he just can’t cope? I don’t know I don’t want to think about it, just seeing, smelling and hearing it is more then I wanted to know.
But how could this be happening? Why would some one come to our part of beautiful California and just start killing people. The people she knew always helped others and we were always against the wars our leaders were using to oppress other people around the world, why make war on us?
Then it just hit me, this isn’t on TV, it’s not happening in some third world country, ruled by a deranged madman. This is San Francisco girl, this is America, it’s not supposed to be happening here. We love everyone, we accept everyone, your suppose to play nice to us, just as we do.
It seemed like an eternity but it must have been just a few minuets when we heard lots of small explosions and shooting back to the west. We knew from those sounds that the group of American Soldiers that we had passed must be attacking the Chinese, then just as quickly as it started the shooting tapers off.
Audi shouted out loud to relieve the stress “God I hope they kick some commie butt.” Two of her friends turned and looked at her in complete surprise, except for Charlie who say’s “Yow, and big time too! Go Army, go” as he pumps his arm up and down several times. Then added, “But they aren’t communist anymore, they are soldiers of the Khan, he took over two years ago.”
“I don’t care, the invaders must be killed, look what the bastards did here!” I stopped for a second, did I just say that, I was completely shocked at myself for thinking that. Yesterday I would have seen the American soldiers and thought, there go a bunch of losers, must have been high school dropouts or to use some other derogatory term, maybe with the f-word tossed in. And today I’m cheering them on, and I want to see them win, to kill the people who must have killed these poor people lying dead and dismembered here on this street.
Amazing that in a few moments the whole world and I, as we knew it, could completely change. And I’ve changed too, I want to live man, I just hope we have enough soldiers, otherwise me and my friends will soon be just like the bodies we are walking past. Dead.
We were past the end of the worse carnage, and I looked over at a very large man lying face down next to his car. The front of the car looked like it had some chucks torn out of it. And the man, his body was full of holes too, and he was very dead. Right there, lying on the ground in front of his left hand is a pistol.
I freeze for just a second and quickly come to the conclusion that we might need some protection, and it’s not like this dead dude is going to need it anyway. So I picked it up pushed the cylinder release and swung it open. I dump the bullets into my open hand to see that none have been fired. I can see that they are .357's and then just as quickly started reloaded them. I yelled at my friends, “Tom or Charlie, look inside this car for more guns or ammo.”
My friends were frozen in place, all three had watched me pick up the gun in utter disbelief and then in shock, especially when I took the rounds out and started reloaded them, as if I did it every day.
“How did you know to work that thing,” Tom asked in astonishment?
“My Dad taught me years ago, he insisted that I learn how to shoot, handle and clear a lot of guns,” Audi said as she loaded the last rounds back into the cylinder and closed it.
Then looking up and seeing the look on his face. I could tell he was completely past it, totally and utterly freaked out, unable to handle this new, suddenly changing world. A world hat was now very deadly and shook up, and it was going on all around us,. Poor Tom, he wasn’t adapting or adjusting. One of the guys at work had often used the expression, ‘A deer in the headlights’, seeing Tom’s face with the ‘duh’ look on it then, I understand now what that phrase means.
Looking around and seeing only a few people loading up cars in their driveways, or like us one or two others on foot heading east.
The guys aren’t helping at all, so saying to myself, ‘I can do this,’ I quickly stick my head and shoulders into the open car window. On the seat is a worn holster just like out of the cowboy movies, you know the type with loops to hold extra bullets and a couple of speed loader cases that were sown on and everything is full of bullets. I grabbed it and a small but heavy green pack under it thinking, this is better if we see more things that are laying about we can put them in the pack.
I pulled my shoulders and head out of the car with the things I’ve got and with out looking I tell Tom, “We need to move off the street and see that we have here.”
Getting no answer I turn and look but Tom is nowhere around. Looking back up the street I see him running away, he’s moving fast about a block away as he turns the corner heading back toward the bridge, without even looking back at us. So much for the courage of a West Coast party boy, it goes to show, some one you think you know, you don’t.
Courtney and Charlie are just standing and watch Tom running away, I think they want to join him but are too scared to move, to go back up that street covered in death.
So I placed the pistol back in its holster, and loop the belt over my shoulder, the dead man is fat, ops sorry, was very large, the belt would have reached around me almost twice.
So far I have been the leader, getting my friends away from the all night party after we heard the news on the radio that the Chinese had invaded. I tell the two that are still with me to keep a good watch out for our safety, as I need to see what is inside this pack. They both nod their heads in agreement and start looking around, watching.
Squatting down I open the packs main compartment, on top is a well worn Bible in a zip closed sandwich bag, at the time I thought that would be the last thing I would be carrying, now it’s the first thing I’d pack.
Under it is a box of pistol ammo and food in brown plastic and Mylar sealed packets, I find out later that day they are the MRE’s we love so much, Ugh. Under this are several sealed baggies with socks ,underwear and t-shits. Then more baggies full of stuff including, three new toothbrushes still in wrappers and three small new tubes of toothpaste. In one of the side pockets are a couple of boxes of rifle Ammo the other pockets are full of other things like matches, gun oil, cleaning kits, Granola bars and other stuff.
So I tell Courtney and Charlie, “Guys, we're in luck this pack has some food in it. Pausing for a second to think, “I’ll bet you this guy has more stuff in the back seat and the trunk, we better take a quick look but I’ll need the keys.” Looking around again I just see a couple of people walking east getting out of Dodge, and no one is paying any attention to us.
I want you to understand right now, I’m no thief, my parents taught me never to steal, I figured that I must be breaking a dozen laws, but the guy was dead and his vehicle was shot up and not going anywhere, we are on foot, miles from our apartments with only the clothes on our back. So if we were going to survive we will need a few things and this guy was dead, lying there, I’m sure he wouldn’t begrudge us taking some stuff; I mean it wasn’t like he would need anything. Besides since then I have learned there is one law that trumps all of the petty laws ever written by some dump ass politicians, the first law of nature is Survival.
Oh well, I closed the pack, stood up and set it next to the back door of the car. Reaching back into the car to get the keys, I see on the seat a large army style canteen with a strap, it must have been behind the pack cause I didn’t see it the first time. On the floor in front of the passenger seat there must be four to six cases of bottled water and on the passenger seat several cases of canned food. Good I’ll empty the canteen in a minuet and fill it up with some of the bottled water. It’s a good thing I had on my cargo pocket style denims, I can take several extra water bottles along in the leg pockets. As I pulled the keys out of the ignition, I glanced into the back seat, it’s full but covered with a dark green tarp, I’ll check it out after I take a look in the trunk.
Walking to the back of the car I unlocked the trunk, and boy did I get a shock, but a good one. Lying on top of a blanket was a semi-auto shotgun, a different make then the one my father showed me how to shoot years ago but close enough, I could see that the weapon was on safe. Taking it out I worked the action and a live shell popped out, letting the bolt go forward I heard it pick up another round and chamber it. This guy was prepared, picking up the ejected round and before reloading it, I see that it was marked ‘twenty gauge #4’. I knew that was a turkey hunting round, and with the extended magazine on the gun, I’ll bet the gun holds at least six rounds with one in the chamber. This little girl could now hunt or defend herself if it comes down to that. Next to the gun was a fully loaded nylon bandoleer, that held 30 more shots for the shotgun.
Setting the shotgun and extra shells out on the ground next to the pack, I then took the blanket off of the other stuff to see what’s there. Before now I have never really paid much attention to anyone's car, I didn’t realize how much room there was in the trunk of an older Lincoln, and it was full. This guy must have been one of those survival types.
Yesterday, I would have called him a freaking survival nut, but his demise was going to be our salvation, and one shouldn’t speak badly about the dead. Especially one that had prepared so well, and with his untimely death, that leave’s us well equipped, with the means to survive.
As I said the trunk was full, and on top of everything else were two more rifle’s in hard plastic cases, rifle magazines in some type of carrying harness I guess for both weapons, four of the red 5 gallon gas can’s full of gas, several more cases of the dreaded MRE’s, and quiet a few heavy army metal cans, I guess loaded with more Ammo. There was lots of other stuff but I didn’t take time to look right then.
Now I’m really starting to panic, as I half close the trunk, thinking, ‘we’ve got all this stuff and no way to carry more then the pack, the pistol and shot gun, some water, maybe a little food and that's about all. And I wasn’t sure if we could carry all that; I’m in good shape as I run or walk three miles ever other day, but I haven’t carried a backpack for over a year.
I doubt Charlie knew the least bit on how to use any weapon, he’d just say, “It’s not my style.” I know because I’d heard him say so on several occasions. And as for Courtney, well all I could say about my best friend, I know she’s fit from her every night’s workout at the local Gym.
I don’t want to cry but what are we to do, so I said a little prayer instead, “Oh lord I know I’m not the best person but I sure could use a little help right now, please father I hope you didn’t place me on this earth for it to end so soon.” I know a very selfish prayer but the first one I had said in many years, it wouldn’t be the last one that day either.
Taking a deep breath, I then opened the driver’s side back door to see what else I’ve found. Lifting the side of the tarp, I see that the seat has been removed, and in its place was filled with cases of dried food that are stacked from side to side, bottom to top; full. All that I could see are the big cans, the #10’s; every one are marked with the ‘Alpine’ brand name. I didn’t know that at the time, but they are some of the best on the market and they taste good too.
Closing the back door, and as I’m trying to figure out what we will do, I grab several of the larger bottles of water from in front of the front seat, dump out the canteen and refill it. I then handed one bottle each to Courtney and Charlie as I take a big gulp from the almost empty second bottle.
As I look around I see a couple of families busy loading up their cars. About five houses down the road an older couple is out and checking on the dead, and they were busy covering them up where they were lying with bed sheets. With no phones working to call for help, like what else could they do?
The garage door of the house behind us is opened manually, (no electricity since early this morning) by a young man with a AK rifle in his hand, a girl holding another rifle steps out and looks around, she can’t be older then 16.
In the garage is a large four-wheel drive flat bed pick-up with stake sides, I can see that it is half loaded, it starts up and backs out and pulls down to the street. Out pops a middle-aged women from the driver’s side and she is wearing a handgun in a shoulder holster. She takes a glance at us then looks up and down the blocked street, to the young man she said, “We will have to drive through the Denny’s and William’s yards, it looks like we can get out that way. Hope there is a gas station that has electrical power we only have half a tank, I don’t think we will make it otherwise.”
Seeing a ride maybe, Audi raises her voice and says, “Hey, we’ve drove close to 25 or 30 blocks, then we walked the last five to get here, that’s about six miles I think, no one had any power.”
The lady looked at me and before she could say a thing I then said, “I don’t want to sound like a thief or to be morbid, but this dead guys car has 20 gallon of gas in cans in the trunk. Your more then welcome to it, and if your heading east could we get a ride please?”
The lady looks me over, assessing if we're a threat, and says, “That’s not your car is it, I didn’t think anyone who was out here when the massacre happened over two hours ago was still alive?”
Audi, looked down at her feet, as she answered, “No, my friends and I were at a party last night. Just before the power went out for the last time, we saw on the news channel that the Chinese had invaded. We were listening to one of the three radio stations still transmitting for more news, when the Mayors spokesperson came on and told us to stay calm and remain inside. Yeah right, we knew he meant run for the hills. So I grabbed my friends and we drove most of the way here, before some Chinese soldiers at a roadblock took our car. I guess we were lucky and not shot, like what happened here.”
Then Audi blurted out, “I found this pistol by the front tire and something said I might need it, I couldn’t help but look for the holster and just kept finding more stuff. The car is full of food and other things we are going to need.”
Choking back an urge to cry Audi couldn’t stop talking, she had to tell the whole story, “Then my boyfriend freaked out. He just took off running away and leaving us. We don’t know what to do? We don’t have any place to go, all of our apartments are a thirty-minuet drive to the west, down by the bay. I don’t think it is going to be safe heading that direction.”
With anger in her voice she finished, “It’s not suppose to be this way, what happened?”
The lady was quick, as she answered, “You want to know what this is all about girl! This is the real world, and life happened, that’s what. The liberal idealist dream that if we’re nice to every one, they will be nice to us is over. It’s time to wake up now and see the real world, it’s past time to realize that the age old continuing struggle between good and evil is what’s happening; that is life, you’ll learn.”
Audi was stunned by the lady’s words but managed to ask again, “Please, we need a ride?”
Making her decisions the lady said, “Alright, there will be a little time later for you to figure it out, but for now we help each other. OK! Good, now bring over the four gas cans so we can fuel up, you talked yourself into a ride.”
Not waiting for an answer the lady turns to her son and say’s, “John give them a hand with the gas,” to her daughter, “Suzy, keep a look out for us.”
Charlie steps to the back of the car to help and lifts two of the cans out as he say’s to John, “Names Charlie, that’s Audi with the gun, and this is my girl Courtney.”
John says, “Hello, as my mom said I’m John,” as he starts to reach for the other two gas cans. He lets out an excited, “wow, Charlie set them on the ground, hey mom come look at this,” seeing the two rifle cases, ammo cans and other things in the trunk.
His mom walks over to look, and quickly takes’ in what they have found, she promptly changes her plan and says, “I’ll back the pick-up over here, you two start unloading everything, and I mean everything.” Looking at Audi she says, “Looks like your find here, is your ticket out. Just lucky for you we came up this weekend to clean out my recently deceased fathers home.”
She then gets in and backs the truck over, gets out and starts to organize the five people, “To let you know, my name’s Jan, I heard Charlie tell John your names, and until we get to our friend’s cabin up in the mountains, I’m the boss, no ifs, and or butt’s and no arguments.”
Audi, Charlie and Courtney agree readily.
Jan then say’s, “Suzy your still pulling guard duty, keep a good lookout. John you and Charlie take these gas cans, show Charlie where the fuel cap is so he can top our truck up.Then John I want your to get up in the back to stack up and secure the things Audi, Courtney and I will hand up to you, leave the space by the front open with enough room to sit down. You two men will be riding back there as our look out.”
“OK Mom,” came the reply from John.
Jan turns to Courtney and tells her, “I saw the cases of bottled water on the front floor and the canned food on the front seat , get those first and place them on the back of the pick up.”
Turning back she added, “Audi, you might want to take off that pistol belt, it would be easier to pick up these boxes and other stuff we are going to transfer over. In the meantime I’m going to finish unload the trunk first and see what’s all here.”
“If you don’t mind Jan I’d like to keep it on, it makes me fill safer.”
“I know what you mean, no problem, as you see I’ve got mine on too.” With the trunk lid all the way open, Jan picks up the smaller of the two rifle cases, “now we take a peek at what we have here,” she says as she unsnaps it.
With a little laugh she exclaims. “Well I’ll be, I bet you this is a war trophy from Nam with that triangle hand guard and all,” flipping it over she exclaims, “an A1 model too. Our big boy there, must have brought it back home with him, it’s almost in brand new condition too.”
Audi watched as Jan worked the action making sure the weapon was unloaded, then moved the selector switch to all three positions, smooth as silk she thought. Then Jan pushed the back release pin and the weapon seemed to break open like a shotgun. She then slide out a part and opened it, pulled out another small pin and dropped a larger pin into her hand, then in order replaced everything just as quickly.
Holding up the black rifle and looking at Audi she says with a smile, “This is a military issue M16A1, I’ll bet it’s still a full auto one too.” Jan sees the questioning look and offers her an explanation, “Just to let you know I spent six years as a nurse in the Marine Corp, skills once learned in keeping your weapon clean are never forgotten.” Then she asked Audi a question, “Would you mind loaning it to John until we get up to our friends cabin, then you can have it back? One never knows, but a full auto M16 might come in handy today and besides it would make a nice weapon for him to use as lookout.”
Audi spurted, “But it’s not my gun it belongs to that dead guy there, I think? I wouldn’t know how to use it anyway.”
Jan shrugged her shoulders and looked Audi in the eyes “Doesn’t matter whom it belonged to yesterday. If you hadn’t of seen the pistol and decided to pick it up, you would have just walked on by. And we would have driven away with out looking either; you found the pistol, now it and all this other stuff is yours. Yesterday and the world as we knew it is gone, from this moment on don’t let any chance like this slip away. It could mean the difference between life and death for you, your friends and now us, OK!”
Audi shook her head in agreement, still not sure of what to say. She knew that Jan was stating the truth, the obvious; today wasn’t yesterday, even if it sounded like something out of a bad dream. So she answered with a half questioning tone in her voice, “I’ll adjust, I’m trying hard, but it’s not easy to change just like that, at the snap of a finger, you know?”
Jan just shook her head in agreement; she knew Audi would be OK, as she placed the M16 back into its case. Then checking the six side pockets and finds that each contained two loaded, thirty round magazines, and there was a separate shoulder bag with ten or so fully loaded thirty round magazines to. She handed the case and extra shoulder bag to Audi nodding her head as she said, “I’ll give you a quick lesson on its use later, but this stuff is yours now, finders-keepers is the rule of the day. We all have to adapt fast or we will be dead, just like our large benefactor lying there. Now hand this up to John, have him set it on the roof of the cab out of the way.”
Audi took the case and the extra bag of magazines and handed them up to John who had climbed into the truck bed. Looking at the case and then at his mom who said. “John, take it out of the case and lay it on the cab, have it ready to be used if necessary.”
Jan unsnaps and opens the other hard case and lets out a low whistle as she exclaimed, “This has to be a M14 army issue, look at that beautiful red birch stock, this guy must have been real sticky fingers in his youth. I’ll bet he worked in supply.”
Laying the rifle back inside the case she fastened the lid then turns the case over and opens the lid on the other side of the case. Looking inside she says, “He’s got lots of mags for it too, all loaded, must be at least thirty and a nice fiberglass stock for field use, plus extra parts, and a scope mount. You girl, are going to be the best-armed female around. We’ll put it back in its case for now. Take this and place it in the cabs back seat. Set it in the middle with one end of the case on the floor and the top angled back toward the window,” as she handed it to Audi and went back to unloading the rest of the trunk.
She next pulls out two large duffel bags, feeling them she knows they are full of cloths or blankets. Stuffed against the sides of the trunk are several Army issue OD gree sleeping bags in carriers. Under them are several pairs of boots, all brand new Army boots, glancing at the size she then raises her voice to say, “John your in luck there are six new pairs of boots in 10R here, and two pairs are winter insulated ones.”
“Hey that’s my size too,” Charlie said before John could answer. “When we get to where ever we are going, is it alright if I have a pair,” he asks?
“Sounds fair, but as mom says since Audi found them it’s up to her,” John answers as he opened the case with the M16, he lets out a low whistle as he locked and loaded a thirty round magazine retracted the bolt and lets it slam forward as it chambers a round. Then checking that the safety is on safe, and setting the rifle back onto the open case, ready at hand if it’s needed.
Jan next sets out a dozen full .50 cal ammo cans most of them were still sealed with a wire lock, and labeled with either .308 or 223 and a couple that say shotgun and one marked 357/38, good more bullets for the pistol. Stacking them on the ground, she looks into an open milk crate and finds a plastic siphon hose with a squeeze primer pump setting on several plastic oil bottles. Jan lifted it out and turned to look at Charlie as he emptied the second gas can into the truck. “Charlie when you empty the last can, bring all four over here to the car. You know how to siphon gas don’t you?”
With a slight smirk Charlie answered, “If you was a police officer, I’d say no ma’am. But the truth is I’ve had to do it several times. I heard you telling Audi that times have changed, I know what we have to do to survive, I’ll fill the cans up or take as much as is in the tank ma’am.”
Jan with a sigh says, “Charlie and the rest of you, either call me Jan, Mrs. Meyers or Mom, but please don’t call me ma’am?”
To her delight all five said in unison, “Yes Mom,” she had to let a big smile show, the five young adults all chuckled too.
It only takes another couple minuets to unload the entire trunk; looking at the car’s new full size spare tire she reads the tire size P75R16. Good it’s the same size as the pickups and being a Lincoln the rim will fit on the Ford pickup, taking it out and setting it on the ground along with the heavy bumper jack, its handle and the four way lug nut tool. She was thinking ‘we leave nothing that we might have to use or need later.’ Stepping around to the side of the car she opens the rear door, pulls the canvas tarp off and seeing all the cases of #10 cans, Jan thinks, ‘Oh Lord I’m sure glad Audi found all this stuff. Even with all the things we had per-positioned at the cabins and now with three more people to feed it sure will come in handy.’ Looking at the labels she can see they are marked Alpine food, she knows it’s a lot better quality then what we have; there diet won’t be so bland now.
In all, it takes just over 15 minuets to transfer the car’s contents to the back of the pick up, and to load the four now full Jerry cans onto the back of the truck. Using the canvas tarp from the car to cover the load, then to secure it all with tie down straps, and a length of rope from the car.
Surveying their handwork Jan then gives them her reformulated plan. “John stay in the back and keep a look out, Suzy get the two set’s of wind and dust goggles from the glove box and one of the hand held radios, check both radio units to make sure they are on and locked to the same frequency. That way we can talk to your brother and Charlie here in the back with out shouting, then I want you to take the shotgun position in the front seat with me, with your grandpa’s AR.”
“Charlie, do you know how to use an AK?”
“Yes Mom, I’ve shot one several times.”
Courtney and Audi look at him in astonishment. He returns their stare as he says, “What?”
Jan ignores this as she said, “Good, John give him grandpa’s AK and all of the magazines. I want you with the M16, it’s just like your Dad’s AR except the safety lever will rotate two clicks, the second position is full auto, keep it on semi only.”
“I know Mom, dad took me to the range two years ago when I turned 16, D was there and he had his service M16, they let me fire almost a dozen magazines on full auto. They taught me how to work it so I would only fire in short bursts for control. Dad and D told me not to tell you, they said it was a man’s secret.”
Jan smiled to herself, ‘Men’; as she handed the two men a couple of OD green army jackets and gloves that had belonged to her father. “You both better wear these, it’s warm now but it will get cold riding in the back; especially up in the mountains. There’s enough room for you to both sit down behind the cab and stay out of most of the wind. Suzy please give them a sleeping bag each to set on, that will make it a little more comfortable ride.”
Then handing out bottles of water she said to the two in back, “Keep two full water bottles in your upper jacket pockets, and put several extra magazines for your rifles in the lower ones, if you need anything rap on the glass and we’ll slid the access window open. Don’t use the radios except for emergency, we have only a few spare batteries.”
“Audi I want you to ride behind me with the shotgun at the ready, we are heading for the hills around Bridgeport. Except for maybe one pit stop that we will take in about two hours, I don’t want to stop again until we get to our friends cabin. We have a little over 220 miles to cover, a third of it in the mountains, that’s close to six or seven hours of hard driving, so if you have to take a pee go and do so now, no one, OK now listen up.”
“Suzy, John, Charlie and Audi, if we are stopped by the US military or a Police road block don’t point your weapons at them, that will get us all killed, instead put them on the floor out of the way. I have my old Navy PX and base pass plus a copy of my husbands discharge orders, if we are stopped they should get us through to Eli’s place.”
“On the off chance we see a Chinese road block we will turn off and find a way around. No shooting unless it’s necessary, it’s better to turn and run and to take a different road. If you have to shoot, no warning shots, shot to kill from the get go, all of our lives depend on each other doing their part; do you understand me?” She looks each of them directly in the eye as she says this, they all understand, maybe reluctantly but they know.
“Now once we get to Eli’s I know where D keeps an extra satellite phone hidden, we’ll make a few calls, rest up for the night and see what our plan of action will be tomorrow. My husband and D’s family should arrive late this afternoon or in the early evening, we’ve talked often enough about several different scenarios for emergencies, like where to meet and such if something were to happen while we’re separated. So I know we will link up with them there and get through this crises. I’m fairly sure we are going to be ahead of the crowd by us moving out so early.”
“Now, I’m not an insensitive hard ass but we can’t stop to offer any help except in the most extreme cases. My main concern is that we will have to stop and help out at an accident.”
“Why stop then,” Charlie asked”
“Because its our duty,” Jan said as she continued, “If we can be of help to someone in a situation like that, we should?”
“Even if our own lives might be at risk?”
“Yes, anything else is moral cowardice and aabdication of responsibility, as adults and Christians it’s a have too, the right thing to do. Any question?”
They all shook their heads no.
“Good, now if we do have to make a stop I want four guards watching, John and Audi you will cover the accident, and or the people to the front. Suzy and Charlie you’ll have to cover both sides and the rear.”
“It doesn’t matter in what direction we are pointing the front of the truck is always at the 12 o’clock position, everyone understand that, good. While we are on the move Suzy you have to be watching the 12 to 3 o’clock zone and Charlie you overlap and watch the 2 to 8 o’clock zone, John from the 6 to 12, Audi from 8 to 11, all of you have to stay focused on your area.'
“If it’s a bad accident Courtney your to assist me, you others are our guards, you’re going to keep scanning your area, we don’t want to be surprised by some one coming out of the brush, or from our rear or flank. Again, do you all understand me?”
Every one nodded their head in agreement, glad that Jan had a plan to get them all to safety.
“All right then every one please bow their head,” Jan said and then prayed. “Our Lord in heaven, Jesus our savior, son of the living God, watch over us and continue to protect us with your loving hand. We know not what your plan for us will be, as we accept your love and guidance and we place our trust in you. We do ask that our country, and fellow servants in your service be spared the rod from these enemies that have attacked us. In your name we pray Amen.”
She paused a second then aired her route, “I plan on staying away from as many large towns as possible once we get past Pittsburg and Antioch, we will jump on to 160 and take it up to 12 highway. Over through Lodi and then 88 to Clements, back on to 12 then east to 49, then down 49 to Sonora. If we can quickly find a gas station around Wallace or Valley Springs we will stop long enough to top off and do a quick bathroom break, if not we try getting some gas down by Sonora, right now we have enough to make it the whole way. But I want to keep the tank as full as possible in case we have to get out of state. If we do stop for a break we will have at least two armed people watching the surrounding area and guarding the truck at all times.”
“When we get to Sonora, we will have the two guys put sweatshirts on under the jackets and watch caps on their heads and have some winter gloves ready for the drive up highway 108 and over the pass, and then on down to Bridgeport. Once we get there we will be close to Eli’s place and hopefully safer. Now that’s the plan,” with a smile she added, “sounds easy doesn’t it gang?”
“Saddle up, we’re moving out,” Jan half shouted not waiting for an answer, as they all piled into the almost full pick up and to their assigned seating arraignment.
Jan started the truck and picked a path half in the yards half on the side walk driving to the end of the block and then turning east on to the road, heading for the hills.

Killing Infidels
‘We love peace, but peace on our terms, peace as laid down by Islam, but when the enemy violates that peace or prevents us from achieving it, then we love nothing better than the heat of battle, the echo of explosion, and the slitting of the throats of the infidels,’
Adam Gadahn of Orange County, Calif.
‘My Muslim brothers everywhere kill Americans, even children, treat them with brutality, drown their ships, shoot down their airplanes, kill them on earth, in the sea or in the sky, kill them everywhere your find them,’ As he told his followers, to force his release from a US prison.
Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman
Wake up, they have spoken and you better be listening

“That first fight we had with the police car and the cars following him around 3 AM, they didn’t see us until we opened fire,” Jaleel almost squealed in delight. “And when the police at that one station didn’t put up much of a fight before they surrendered, this is to easy. In Iraq when we attacked the police, they would fight until they drove us off, I thought you said Americans in America would never give up?”
With a sigh Clarence answered, “We have had surprise on our side both times. At the station they don’t realize we are out exterminating pigs. When word gets out that they are being attacked, and it’s a fight to the death, the police will fight even harder. And if they find out your men are also beheading the dead and those who surrender, they’ll fight smarter too.”
“Ha, let them fight until the last man, they don’t have any heavy weapons. With our 23mm AA cannons and the RPG’s, we will win us every fight.”
“Don’t get cocky Jaleel, if they prepare an ambush with a swat team and their snipers spread out we will have a hard time, it might be a good idea to have the teams double up now. I think fifty men, well armed should be able to overcome any resistance that a police station could put up?”
“If I do that it means we can only attack five targets at a time, not the ten we can do now.”
“Yes but we will win every fight and lose fewer men, if we continue to fight, our numbers will drop. That’s until we can recruit from the jails, or link up with the troops ships carrying the Jihad Army unloading down at the ports.”
“Do you really think we will get converts from the prisons?”
“Yes, when offered their freedom if they convert and a chance to strike back against the system, to kill the pigs, and the people that placed them behind bars, yeah they’ll join us. They are Cons, there not stupid and I’ll explain it to them that by joining us, they won’t be staying locked up in a cell and waiting for a slow death by starving. They will join when I put the question to them like that. Besides they haven’t got much of a choice do they!”
“I like that, join and fight for the glory of Allah as taught by his one true prophet Mohammed, or suffer the fate intended for the lowest of infidels, a slow starvation, not a true warriors death from a bullet that is quick and painless. You will make a good recruiter Clarence, I can now see why Ayman has such faith in you.”
“I’m not sure I’m a good recruiter, I’ll be telling them the truth that’s all.”
“Yes it will be the truth, and soon they will see that the word as told to Mohammad by Allah the most merciful, is the one true path to heaven. And for those who are willing to die in spreading the word, as the mujahedin above all they are the most beloved. After they read and are properly taught from the Qur'an then they will understand, just like you did my friend. There is only one god and that is Allah.”
Both men in unison say, “Allah Akabar.”

Day 1, The Muster
“As I’m sure you have already heard, both houses of Congress achieved a quorum at a little past eleven AM, that's DC time and declared war, the president then signed that declaration.” Dan paused for a few seconds letting the enormity of the moment sink in as he scanned the faces of his friends who had responded so far and made the trip to Ft. Riley. “We have a meeting with General Greene in just over ninety minuets, and we will need to have a clear goal of what we as a unit must do, to be of assistance.”
“We continue as we have been doing Dan, getting ready,” Red Stoddard said. “I can’t speak for the other two battalion commanders who will arrive before our noon meeting, but in our general talk about all of the what-ifs before now, that has been the main consensus. We’re not ready to be deployed by any sense of the imagination, no-way no-how. If we were deployed now it would be a goat-roping circus. No let me rephrase that it would be a FUBAR mess and a disaster.”
“We all know that sir,” Cody said stating the obvious.
“And we will inform the general with the obvious, and as a united group,” Dan added. Then continued, “He might press us for a time frame, when do we think we might be deploy-able. It’s got to be shorter then four to six months and realistic. Otherwise our Battalions will be broken up and trained in smaller units and just become replacements for the regular Army.”
“Your Battalion is the oldest Dan and you guys have had two, Battalion wide combined exercises. You and Cody have a head start on mine and the other two battalions, what’s your best WAG for your men?”
“If Buck can come through on the rifles I asked him to purchase, then we will all have the same weapon platform,” Dan paused looked at Cody as he nodded his head and said, “two months and even then we would still be very rough. And that depends on the quality of people coming in to fill out our ranks and vacant NCO and Officers positions.”
Red smirked as he knew it would take him and his people at least a full month longer, he couldn’t answer for the other two battalions, he didn’t know enough about their strengths and qualities, or weaknesses.
What Dan said next made his two friends feel better, “Red our unit patch says 1st Brigade Kansas Militia and that’s how I’m going to sale our unit to General Greene, that we are a Brigade and should be deployed as one, with a lot of hard work that’s what we will become. With three months of hard work we should be able to join the line, I don't think we will get four months!”
